*Draws in deep fanboy breath*

Every normally numbered Final Fantasy before XI, Final Fantasy Tactics, Crisis Core, Dissidia, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, The World Ends With You, and... Golden Sun.

Everybody that says Oblivion needs to check out Morrowind and it's two expansions.

The problem is that a lot of people that love Oblivion fall into these groups.

a) Terrified of a game that doesn't hand-hold and will get massacred by a rat and quit before they ever see even a tenth of what the game has to offer. And even if they didn't, wouldn't have enough 'free-thinking' genes to truly take advantage of it.

b) Graphics whores, and everyone knows that Morrowind was beaten round the head with the shitty end of the ugly stick (apart from a few rare moments).

I love Morrowind, always will, I just can't see many people (especially the new breed) getting into it.

Breath of Fire II
Golden Sun
Chrono Trigger
(always had a soft spot for Radical Dreamers, too.)
Final Fantasy Tactics / Tactics Advance
Skies of Arcadia
Seiken Densetsu 3
Earthbound
Xenogears
Pokemon (1st Gen, rest are ok...)
Super Mario RPG

In no particular order.

EDIT: Totally forgot Evolution 1 & 2 and Baten Kaitos Origins (Liked the much improved (IMO) card battle system over the original.)

The original Secret of Mana on the SNES, ah man was that game good
This guy wins.

First real time combat RP game. Plus it was multiplayer. Ruled.

Secret of mana 2... sucked.... I was sad.

Hmmm...tough call. I like so many different RPGs for different reasons. Loved the combat in Grandia 2, love the weirdness of Persona 4, love the scope of Oblivion, love the story of KOTOR.

But then there's Illusion of Gaia, Arx Fatalis, Dark Cloud 2, Neverwinter Nights, Lost Odyssey, Koudelka (and several subsequent Shadow Hearts games)...the list goes on and on.
Where is Fallout 3 on your list? xD
Oblivion was good but NO FALLOUT 3?!?!
It's not one of my favorites. Great game, just didn't resonate with me personally.

If I were to be completely honest with myself, my favorite RPGs are from the SNES days. Final Fantasy IV, VI, Earthbound and Chrono Trigger. I'm sure a large part of my adoration comes from the fact that those were my first, but I've gone back and player them since I was ten, and the still hold up quite well, with or without their next-gen remakes.

Otherwise, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, and the Diablo series.

But really, Earthbound, Earthbound, Earthbound. Come on, Mother 3 language patch!

Digital Devil Saga 2 is the best one I've ever played.

Honorable mentiones: DDS 1, Persona 3 (I haven't played 4 so I can't say something about it), Final Fantasy IX, Chrono Cross and Trigger and Nocturne.

Fallout. It was one of those rare games that actually changed my outlook on gaming, and to a lesser extent, changed my personality towards the world.

Fallout 1 the deepest, most immersive, most moral and most psychological game I've ever played. The only major flaw with it is that it has caused me to lose all respect to any RPG other than Fable 1+2.
