Snuggles and Ornery(Executioner Smough & Dragonslayer Ornstein)

Those two are difficult to manage learning how to fight them when they're coming at you together. Granted, I haven't had proper internet since before I got Dark Souls, so I've gone through them even on NG+ entirely by myself, excluding the times I've gone through with Solaire as my NPC ally.

wat.

I think you meant Dark Souls.

I get so lonely sometimes, but man, S&O were mind numblingly hard with a solo melee build. Although, Super O wasn't too bad if you just hide behind a pillar and let him derp out on the other side.

The rage of failing repeatedly was no match to rage when he didn't drop that fucking ring that's perfect for my build though.

Also, the Orb of the Dead in Baldur's Gate on the xbox. What the fuck were they thinking putting that thing as the first boss? Took about half an hour because you had to kite a bajillion skeletons while casting magic missle and crying

Mega Ornery only drops the Lion Ring post-patch. Pre-patch, you have to kill Ornery before Snuggles.

You can still get the Lion Ring and Soul of Ornstein in the same run pre-patch, you just have to do the fight two times.

I've seen so many people citing Seymour from FF X. Really? I mean, FF X has got freakin' Penance and your complaining about Seymour?

Anyway, my vote goes to the Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga. People who have played it will know: even at lv. 99 with maxed out stats, this "familiar face" can still kick your ass without breaking a sweat.

The first guy in Human Revolution on the hardest difficulty when i had spent the duration of the game until that point in stealth.

Meta Ridley was pretty tough in metroid prime.
I found Meta Ridley really fun. The Omega Pirate, on the other hand...only time a boss has stopped me that hard.

The first time I fought Rathalos in Monster Hunter Tri. That ass sure loved to stay airborne and I wasn't the gunner type. I'm the lance and shield type and the only parts you can hit him when he's flying is his talons and tail which are hard to miss.
It took me over 40 mins to killed it (since the timer in the game is 50mins and I know I had less than 10 mins left).

However once I got better weapons and armour, he became a breeze to beat.

Dark Force from Phantasy Star II. Level grinding was absolutely neccessary to stand a chance.

I also had a massive amount of trouble with boss on the moon in Final Fantasy IV. Probably shouldn't have been that hard.

Final boss of devil may cry 3 (vergil 3) on highest difficulty. On the original version mind you, not the special edition. That one is way easier.

Because of his redonculous health it takes roughly 2 hours and if you make one false twitch move you're done for. Think about that for a minute. Not a single error for 2 straight hours... Every time I failed I had to give up for the day because I was simply too exhausted.
And than there's the hours and hours of farming bosses on easy so you can pay for all the items you need.

No mention of the Demi-Fiend from Digital Devil Saga?

EDIT:

I definitely have to throw in this one.

I agree. I always saw her as the hardest boss of that game. I desperately needed ALL my health potions.

I had trouble with the Jack In The Box in Donkey Kong 64. Don't know why but he was a massive pain in the ass for me. More recently I had trouble with the last boss of Dungeon Siege 3. I only figured out how to beat her by rolling around. CONSTANTLY. Roll around, spam AoE sword attack.

The final fight with Vergil in Devil May Cry 3. Very Hard and up. Still haven't beaten him. I keep meaning to go and farm a metric ton of stars to heal & refill the DT guage with but even with those I just can't hit him enough to negate the healing effect he gains whilst in Devil Trigger.

Galamoth in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

While going in against him prepared (with the circlet that lets you gain life from lightning damage and a Crissaegram) he can be laughably easy, the first time I fought him I had neither of those things, which made him damn-near impossible and one of the longest non-turn-based fighting fights that I've had.

The second boss in Demons' Souls. It's so difficult that I have yet to get anywhere near beating it. After my third attempt I swore off of the game entirely, as I can't afford to throw my controllers through walls on a regular basis.
