Strawberry Panic. It's an anime that takes place in a boarding school populated entirely by lesbians. One student is nearly raped like five times, though it never really makes sense.

"Okay, we want this student to run for Etoile but she doesn't want to because it's a totally asinine job. What do we do?"
"I'll distract her, you rape her love interest."
"Why the fuck would you do that?"
"It turns out someone made a series with lesbians before. We need to be more edgy."
"Very well. But make sure you take about forty times longer than necessary, we already have no real plot to speak of and we still need to spread it over 24 episodes."

True there are more graphic animes with nudity, but Haruhi only tries to rape Mikuru three times.

The list of hentai can go on forever I think...so any of that pretty much. For the most part it is all the same stuff with some exception.

Elfen Lied, why because it trys to pretend its this serious drama while giving people a sense of deepness too it.

Case and point first episode

Im not even going to attack the first seen with the naked murder going on.

You get naked mew on the beach, why mew? because thats the sound she makes, also its the sound a cat is supposed to make in japan *Mew = Meow, its an onomatopoeia type word* why does mental retardation do this to her I don't know. The writer thought to himself "hmm how can I pass this character off as innocent" and within one minute of getting clothes and getting off the beach, she looks down out her shirt curiously showing us a tit. It tries to hide its perversion and that to me makes it more perverted.
Elfen Lied is violent, and has some nudity, especially in the first episode. It scares off posters like this one who can't understand how nudity can be anything other than sexual.
But it wasn't used as anything other than Fanservice...
That's all it was there for.
And the bulk of it happened at really inappropriate times, ruining the mood and meaning the previous event might of had.
Well we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, especially claiming that all the nudity was for fanseveice, frankly if this:

Is your idea of fanservice I fear for your mental state, and frakly any girl you intend to sleep with.

Nyuu, her name and the sound she makes is nyuu,
As for the naked murder would you want to dress and undress someone that can tear you to pieces at two meters?
As for why she is portrayed as innocent, she is innocent she is not the same person that killed those people.
And yes there is a lot of fanservice but it is not purely for fanservices sake and many scenes of nudity are portrayed as downright disturbing, though I will admit that that comes across better in the manga.

Try to look past the surface before bashing something.

I'm sorry for getting defensive but I see far to many people make snap judgments about this series (and anime in genral for that matter) without even trying to understand it.
If you don't like it fine but don't make shit up and pretend that your hastily cobbled together opinion carries any weight.
No I went out of the way to watch the entire series, and I also went out of my way to establish that this was a horrible attempt of creating a dark anime and failed at creating realistic human emotions. You couldn't convince that a killing a puppy because someone is different as being a realistic human emotion, and the showing tit in that particular scene was anything less then fan service in a show that was trying to convince people that said series is deep.
Well sorry but I think your wrong,
And yes there are people that monstrous (especially children) you have obviously led a pretty sheltered life, if you havn't seen things like that.

OT: If hentais count, then we'll be here all day. I have watched my fair sum of hentai, and enjoyed most of it. But as the title says anime, I'll go with that.

Kiss x Sis is so damn perverted that I couldn't get through the first episode. If it were a hentai, and would have featured some actual damn sex I would have had no problem.

And Baka To Test To Shokanju can be pretty perverted at times. One of the characters is even called the Voyer Ninja. However the perversion in Baka to Test to Shokanju is mostly used for humor. And it's damn funny at that, so I can look past it.
It doesn't change my original argument, so it wasn't a sound a cat made it was still only used to make the girl sound innocent, but in a way that was obviously a coup out, but maybe im looking at it trying to find only the bad things, but right after I found that kids killed a puppy because a girl was different. Now this didn't offend me, but it made be re-analize the entire series because that in its self just felt like lazy writing.
Sorry but you are wrong sir, the Onomatopoeia for the sound a cat makes is "Nyah" Nyuu(depending on how it's pronounced) can be the sound for intense concentraition, but I'm pretty ure it wasn't meant to mean anything.

High school of the dead, here's the guilty one.

Sigh... it had so much potential, and then somebody said "let there be fanservice" :\
I know how you feel :(
The entire HOTD series has OFFICIALLY mind-fucked me into submission o_O

Actually to some people that is fanservice, because guess what, some people like Gore and Nudity mixed.
Personally i don't think that was as it had some context, and i was more specifically referring to the first episode while i was saying that "That's all it was there for", as was the person i quoted was talking about the first episode as well.

But seriously , the MC and his cousin having a decent conversation, setting a good mood all of the sudden broken by Mentally Damaged Lucy(if i remember correctly) falling on the floor and pissing herself?
That was fanservice plain and simple.
And the series contains a LOT more.

Oh I'm aware what people can get off to, but that;'s hardly their target audience
As for the collapsing on the floor and pissing herself I'd argue that it was used to show how helpless she had become, and how she had no concept of what's appropriate or social mores.
And most nudity (though not all) is used to show how dehumanised they have become, just because some find it titillating does not change that they are obviously being treated as less than human by their captors as though they don't even deserve clothes the animals that they are.

@Gigaguy64 I know but I felt the need to correct him anyway, using incorrect data to suport your argument is a pet peeve of mine.

well, it might not be on-par with some of the stuff other escapists have seen, but the one anime that was the most MESSED UP that I've ever seen has to be School Days. The face-to-panty shot ratio has to be somewhere around 1:1, and the story just goes into "THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU" territory :p The reason it's messed up is mostly because of how the 12 episode long series ends though...
the main character dude impregnates a girl, while cheating on her with literally the whole freakin' school. One of the girls he is cheating with, which actually was his first girlfriend, goes into a wierd crazy emotionally dead state. The impregnated girl kills the main character, first girlfriend discovers him dead, saws off his head, puts it in a duffle bag, kills the girl who's pregnant so that she won't have his kid, and is later seen on a sailboat hugging the main characters head, while talking to it... yeeeaah...
Fun fact: A high school girl killed her own dad in Japan the same week the last episode was supposed to be released on TV. They held off the release with a week to avoid the whole "too soon" thing. Instead, they put a 20 min episode with calming music, norwegian landscape and a boat. Thus, the "Nice Boat"-meme was born.
The way I understood it, the girl was actually lying about being pregnant. After all, after she is killed and "gutted" we get a shot of the killer girl from within the dead girl's womb, saying "As I thought. There's noone inside you."
Yea that's what i thought too.
And i LOVED it.
The series was pretty terrible but i love the Revenge.
Sweet....sweet revenge.
The mc got EXACTLY what he deserved.

Actually, I think that's a bit "decide for yourself". I mean, it isn't exactly anyone inside a pregnant girl during the first few weeks now is it? It is just a small cell-bundle. I think I actually saw a discussion on this topic somewhere, but I can't remember where. And also, let's not forget about Kotonoha's mindset during this, I hardly think she is the best judge on something like this after that emotional rollercoaster in the middle of the night, eh? :p

I actually thought that was part of their target audience, for the shier amount it had and how unnecessary most of it was.
As for the collapsing on the floor and pissing herself I'd argue that it was used to show how helpless she had become, and how she had no concept of what's appropriate or social mores.
I can see where you are coming from, but it felt really out of place.
They had just set up a touching conversation and then BAM out of literally nowhere she comes in.
It just happened and ruined the moment that had just been set up.
And most nudity (though not all) is used to show how dehumanised they have become, just because some find it titillating does not change that they are obviously being treated as less than human by their captors as though they don't even deserve clothes the animals that they are.

Again i see your point, but most of the nudity was not used in that context.
Most of it was just there.
No context, no meaning, it was just there to be there and it really stuck out.

And really, i do think it could have been a good series, but there were many factors besides the gratuitous amounts of nudity that really hurt the show imo.

I'd think that at least parts of it could be explained as an artistic choice underlining the fragility and vulnerability of the characters.

Not that the substantial majority of it wasn't unnecessary and part of at times creepy and fetishistic fanservice, but the nudity in itself wasn't completely without any other relevance in all scenes.

OT: Probably lots of bizarre fetishistic Hentai I wouldn't know of.

For more ordinary anime which could potentially fit "weird and creepy", Bludgeon Angel Dokuro-Chan, Umineko no Naku Koro ni (not to be confused with its excellent predecessor [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Higurashi-no-Naku-Koro-ni]), Gunslinger Girl (at least the overall idea, the execution is fairly harmless and the first season quite watchable [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/anime/6795-Anime-Review-Gunslinger-Girl]), and what's out of the second season of To aru Majutsu no Index so far. Not all of them are without merit, but they certainly have downsides of "weird & creepy" to them.
