Mario on SNES/NES. whichever the grey one is. My sister has it right now but yeah I play it. As well as the original Zeldas. My cousin lent his Gamecube disc to me with the whole collection on them & I am playing Ocarina of Time. :)

I still play my NES a lot, Final Fantasy 1, Castlevania, Super Mario Bros. 3, and the Sega Genesis still kicks ass. Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Streets of Rage 3, and Batman.

Lego Island! 15 years old and still awesome.

Seriously this is probably the earliest passable version of a open world game.

If you grew up in the 90s and haven't heard of it your parents hated you.

Edit: I actually still play pong and pac man on my phone, but I still like my example of a modern 3d game, because otherwise everyone has a kickass 2d game they still play every so often.

...my...god...the memories. I-I think I still have lego Island somewhere...and the second one. (That I never finished.) I loved lego, I think the rock-raiders game was the best, that or Alpha team.

THE MEMORIES!
Holy crap I had completely forgotten about rock raiders!

Loved that game, but it had some of the worst AI ever. Those stupid bastards kept jumping in lava for no reason. =.=

Rollercoaster Tycoon from 1999. I got older games (mainly the first games of the Need for Speed franchise) but RCT is the oldest that I still play.

I retro game quite a bit. Hindsight has given people the ability to pick out the games that were really something special and due to the relatively low cost of older games you are able to try a wide variety of older games. I have heard the argument that most older games don't hold up today but, while that may be true of a few games, that usually isn't the case. My second favorite game ever is chrono trigger and I didn't play that until 2009, so it can't be nostalgia. I have recently been playing terranigma (which came out in 1995) for the first time and it compares favorably to almost any of today's games.

PS: You should really try out terranigma. Like right the fuck now. It is an absolute gem of a game, being one of the best 16 bit RPG's out there. Here is a video giving more info. http://www.clanofthegraywolf.com/16-bit-gems/15
A beautiful plot, deep combat, likeable characters, whats not to like? Unfortanetly, the game was never released in North America, and there for there is no to play it without an emulator. Oh well, whats a tech savy gamer to do, eh *wink*?

OT: The oldest games I play are on the atari. And I am 15. I am lame.
