I've only actually watched one anime series (like, most of the episodes), and that would be Cardcaptors. That show was actually really good.

The original Japanese dub made me laugh... it showed how much they censored in the English dub such as... well you can see for yourselves. Let's just say Japan are not homophobic. XD

Fullmetal Alchemist, by far. Haven't caught up with the latest series though.

I always watched the DB series as a kid, so I've sort of grown fond of those. Also, I finished all of Death Note which I was proud of, considering the second series slowly got worse and worse.

Agreeing with Yahtzee pretty much makes your points equal to moot. He says stuff for the lulz, and he also says certain things just to fit in the crowd.

there are things he doesn't say just for laughs alot of the time, like in his blood on the sand reveiw when he's talking about race sterotypes and about politicaly correct terms. Thats a valid point. yes at the end he makes a joke out of it but he still said something that makes sence and is a valid point.
Also how is saying most mainstream games suck, and saying something that (appearantly) pisses off fans of certain things, trying to fit in with the crowd? In fact he's alienated tons of veiwers and pisses tons of people off how's that fitting in exactly?

case closed. i love the sherlock holmes/james bond gadgets aspect and the story isn't to out there. and also speed racer when i was a kid. i mostly dont like anime for the same reasons as yatzee. to many androdinest males running around with compensatory swords looking emo because hot anime chicks want to rides his willy and he doesnt know how to pronunce the words "yes i would like sexy you hot hot girl!" so he has to be agnsty about it and get out his sexual agression but plunging his "giant sword" into girly look "males" also ninjas are awsome but naruto however is not a ninja (i dont mean to offend naruto lovers this is just my veiws and opinions) if for the pure and simple fact he runs around in a FLORECENT ORANGE JUMPSUIT! how do you sneaky when you look like a traffic cone wouldn't that tip the enimies off when they see a shiny orange object shapped like a small asian boy walking slowly past them....course i also have the same gripe with sam fisher how is it you're invisable when you have big shiny lights all over you clothes? but whatever i don't have anything against anime lovers but its not my cup of tea. but i will admit some do tickle my fancy (basicly the two i just named) also deathnote isn't to bad i like the concept at least and i saw an episode or two where they used the book in inventive ways that i though were clever but for the most part i'd rather watch burn notice or possibly true blood or house or soemthing. also though i think cosplayers get a bad name. i mean why should we only dress up as our favorite charceters on halloween? i'd dress up like ash from evil dead but people tend to get offended when you go to shake there hand witha cahinsaw
So one of your early posts is attempting to paraphrase Yahtzee based on a flawed argument?

I can name around 30 anime series that doesn't have an 'androgynous' male with a compensatory sword, but that's because I've actually looked at enough anime to know not to jump to such a generalisation.

And quite frankly, I couldn't even read the rest of the post because it was a huge chunk of text, it needs paragraphs. Word of advice, Paraphrasing Yahtzee on a flawed argument? Wall of Text? Generalising genres you know nothing about? If you keep it up, you won't last long here. None of these things are liked here, if you change it up however, you will find this to be a nice place to be.
Thank you for your suggestions i wasn't trying generalize. i may have not conveyed my feelings well because i didn't want it to be a novel so by the time i had relized it was to long i hadn't said much.
i appologiez for the spelling errors, I usualy type fast because i think fast and my hands try to catch up with my head. However I'll start taking it slower from now on and not meander so much.
my point actually was that it's just not my thing really. the part's about swords and stuff is mostly towards like final fantasy wich is in anime style mostly. but i know not all of them are like that. I've seen quite a few anime's actually beacuse most of my friends are into anime so i get alot of it, but my best friend is mostly into those types so thats what i get exposed to more often. I shouldn't have said that's what most anime's are because i know it not to be true but being exposed mostly to that type that's what i think about. I shouldn't but I do and i apologiez
I should have explained my points and feelings more celarly then I did and in the future i will keep your advice in mind. Thank you.
Some of the things that these people are saying is true, but this post is a complete turnaround. The fact that you can respond to criticism means you will go far here, and you have put yourself in a completely different light already in my eyes. Enjoy yourself here, but understand that there are certain things that people will not respond well to, like some of the things in your post, also grammar nazi's are prevalent (if you type really fast, use firefox or google chrome, they have spell checkers), as well as people telling you to use the search button on a repeat topic.

But you formed a valid argument with valid enough points, you should fit in well here. Hopefully I will see more from you.

And if you're planning to stay for long, stick an avatar up, so we know it's you from now on. ;¬)

Cowboy Bebop tops my list by far, it has everything I want. Death Note is also one of them, though I haven't finished that one yet.

Try Cowboy Bebop. You might like it. You almost can't go anymore further from the "androgynous kids with massive swords' Final Fantasy type. And the soundtrack is mindblowingly awesome.

The jokes he makes, the way he puts himself across and his attitude.

I like to call it the House Syndrome. (Actually, I stole that from somewhere.)

Hunter X Hunter and Full Metal Alchemist. I would have said Bezerker as well but it ended after 25 episodes at a terrible time, shame cause it was just getting better and better.

I guess I like these anime because they have interesting characters and the story's just draw you in. Too bad they only go for a short time.

I still haven't seen Cowboy Bepop, Death Note, FLCL, and many more.

Also like to say Yu-Gi-Oh and DBZ Abridged series are hilarious!

mmmmh no. Chrome was trying to be helpful and point out some errors i had made and thank him for it.
you are just being rude and trying to make me out like someone whos trying to be cool like the big boys and thats not it i was simply putting my two cents in and the fact the yahtzee made an aurgument wich i happen to agree with i figured i'd say that i agree with him instead of everyone saying "you just copied what yahtzee said." when i was trying to state my feelings on the subject that happens to be the same feeling as his.
also i didn't type alot because i "thought i'd seem cooler" i wrote that much because i was saying how i felt about the subject because that's was the person who started the thread asked and i happen to have alot to say on the subject
I see no change to be frank. Just read over what you type before posting.

I'd have to go with The Last Exile, but I'll be dicked if I can find it on DVD anywhere. On second thought maybe Gundam Wing, which I know a lot of people hate but I grew up watching it so it has massive nostalgia value. LEAST FAVORITE? Dragonball/Dragonball Z. If i want to see a bunch of guys with crazy hair grunt and talk about their magic powers for half an hour I can always go down to the local gay bar and at least have a few beers while watching it.
PS
On second second thought Hellsing is pretty awesome too. If a bit short.
PPS
On second second second (third?) thought, that guy up there reminded my of the pure awesometude of Cowboy Bebop, so I'm going with that. Anybody else long for the days when Toonami was still around....and it was good?

One Piece.

402 episodes watched and I'm still begging for more. That's saying something since I normally have the attention span of a gnat.

FLCL/Fooly-Cooly/Furi-Kuri is probably my favourite. I've rewatched it so many times, and it never ceases to be awesome.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Bokurano get honourable mentions because they both made me cry and they're they only two animes to ever make me want a happy ending.
Neon Genesis Evangelion gets one too, because the End of Evangelion was fucking awesome, in a horribly grotesque way.

I'm not sure I can say I have a favourite anime but there are several I really like for different reasons.

For both art and story, I like Macross Frontier, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Kara no Kyoukai and End of Evangelion.

On fun in a 'switch off your brain' kind of way I enjoy Initial D and Code Geass (best not to take this one seriously at all).

Last Exile looks gorgeous and the scenery is absolutely amazing. It also comes with a nice story. The Charcoal Feather Federation is a very relaxing show and an excellent example of why not much has to happen to make a series interesting. Planetes works for a similar reason.

Lucky Star is very soothing and somewhat niche but it, Minami-ke (first season only) and Azumanga Daioh are probably some of the funniest anime I've seen.

Erk. This list really snowballed.

Sorry if I sound like an anime noob, but I only like Studio Ghibli films, mainly because of their beauty and excellent stories.
If there's only one anime director or studio you ever like, you can do a hell of a lot worse than Ghibli.

Thank you for saying so, it helped me stop feeling like such an idiot for getting jumped all over after only like 2 posts on this website before.
I know my grammer and spelling is kind of bad on the internet (writing on paper i'm fine at it) but between typing fast and accidently hitting buttons because i have large hands (being 6'4 will do that to you lol) i make mistakes alot, but I never thought it was a BIG problem on the internet because I usual just go on boards to chat and talk about subjects of interest and debate subjects. I wasn't aware that people were so hostile here about it. Most places i've been people don't mind much there just interested in what you have to say but I see now that people here are a little more aggresive about it so I'll try to clean it up. I've used explorer my entire life so it's what i'm use to, but i'll look into firefox and chrome.

also I'm not sure wich avatar to put up except for maybe a photoshopped picture of myself I did maybe, I don't know but I'll figure it out because this site seems to have good topic.
