As much as I hate to admit it, Pokemon. I'm assuming that Diamond and Pearl will be very serious in terms of Team Galactic's plans so I want to see just how evil they can get.

Lupin the Third.

Jigen is my Jesus.
GOD! I FORGOT! I LOVE LUPIN!!! Castle of Cagliastro is (in my opinion) the greatest Lupin movie ever, though I really like The one with Mamo. Zenigata is the coolest!

Well I finally sat down and started my first anime, not including DBZ (is that anime? I'm a nub at this stuff) but anyways, apparently I started with one of the best, Cowboy Bebop. I'll just say that it's incredibly well done, the art's cool, the voice acting is really good and the music...oh god is the music good.
try outlaw star and trigun. they are pretty cool, and sort of "space opera" style.

my favourite is probably code geass. although it depends on my mood on what genre i want to watch. so dependent on that they are: Code geass, Deatchnote, Clannad (and Clannad Afterstory), Fullmetal Panic: Fumoffu, Azumanga daioh, melancholy of suzumiya haruhi .
edit - oh god, how could i forget Hellsing. that got me into anime, although the OVA is infinitely better.

I haven't watched many, I'm quite picky about them so haven't seen a lot of the really popular ones (although I have seen some).

'Darker Than Black' and 'Ergo Proxy' are probably my favourites.

Elfen Lied I liked but I wish it had less nudity so I didn't feel like a pervert.

Death Note was good, but dragged on for too long
L died.

I preferred the two non-animated movies.
I stopped watching when that happened.

As for me, FLCL was just pure schizophrenic random hilarity. Like if my friends wrote the script for the universe, it would probably end up to be something like this.

Sorry if I sound like an anime noob, but I only like Studio Ghibli films, mainly because of their beauty and excellent stories.
yeah I like those films too. Great compelling stories with strong messages. I use to like naruto. But then I got into shorter series. My favorite series are

-Ghost Hunt (#1)
-Vampire Knight (#3)
-Rumbling Hearts (#2)

I'd say one of these:

Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Dragonball Z

I find them all enjoyable and good to watch
What about trigun? lol
I've always wanted to watch Trigun, but I've never been able to find it anywhere. I've seen the odd volume or two in shops but they're always over priced.

Looks like a pretty awesome series.

I didn't know so many people had seen Cowboy Bebop. It's a fave of mine too :p

But i've got to say, the best film i have ever seen, anime or live action, is Princess Mononoke. It just simply dazzles me with the animation style, the script, and it's one of the few films i can watch in english dub. Then again, almost all of the Studio Ghiblis fall into this catagory, as they do with being in my faves.

I liked Naruto for a while, but gave up on it, because when i started reading it, it was already at chapter 400 and something. Not really encouraging. I just got my friends to tell me the important parts :D

Elfin Lied was fantastic, i adore the story, and how the violence and everything IS nessasary, and not just killing mindlessly for the sake of it.

Death Note was fantastic up until the moment that L went. I would have watched it further, but it completely lost interest in it. I only watched the last episode so that i could cheer when Light goes. Seriously, i actually cheered. And i did when i saw L again :p

Wow, long post is long...

Mushi-shi
It was haunting and beautiful and did not rely on violence or the characters being incredibly stupid to advance the plot.
If you want to watch it here's the link to it on Hulu:

If you follow my posts, I am a big Naruto fan...not a 'fanboy' so-to-speak, but I really like it. Same goes for Death Note, Elfen Lied, Blood+, Konjiki no Gash Bell, Akira and many others.

Also how is saying most mainstream games suck, and saying something that (appearantly) pisses off fans of certain things, trying to fit in with the crowd? In fact he's alienated tons of veiwers and pisses tons of people off how's that fitting in exactly?
The jokes he makes, the way he puts himself across and his attitude.

I like to call it the House Syndrome. (Actually, I stole that from somewhere.)
I see what you're saying about house and about yahtzee doing the same, but that's not how I veiw it, but that's just my opinion, and to each his (or her) own, right?
Yup, agreed. Nice to know people can be civilised on this forum. Kudos to you.

Right now I'm watching Code Geass (R2 episode 20)....dang...it's one of the best animes I've ever seen. The story, the emotions, the characters. It's really, really good. Everybody should check it.

Bleach on the other hand...is total and utter garbage IMHO. It comes nowhere near Code Geass. In the end, I stopped caring. Constant introduction of new cannon fodder (bounto...for instance) just so that Ichigo and crew can show off new abilities/ attacks/ transformations...eventually the whole show starts to feel like one huge filler.

Ohh yeah..and Samurai Champloo is nice :)

I am somewhat sure it was the last UC Gundam, it's a bit better than Wing, which kicks Seed's ass.
Mobile Suit Victory Gundam was the last UC Gundam series prior to the slough of Alternate Universe stuff. It's one of my favorites as well.

My "favorite" anime of all time is probaby Scrapped Princess, made by BONES of Full Metal Alchemist and Eureka 7 fame. Scrapped Princess is about a girl who is prophesized to destroy the world when she turns 16, she wanders the world on the run from those who want her dead and is protected by her two older siblings.

Other favorites are...
The Big O
Cowboy Bebop (of course)
Eureka 7
Full Metal Alchemist (though it is completely surpassed by the manga that I'm just not interested in the anime anymore)
Gundam Zeta
Victory Gundam
Armored Trooper Votoms
Future Boy Conan (Hayao Miyazaki's Anime Series)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan
Macross: Frontier
Macross Plus
