For me it would have to be between One Piece, Deathnote and FullMetal Alchemist. Although One Piece would probably just edge it.

I don't know how broad we're being with 'anime' but my favourite is Cyber City Oedo 808. Its a three part cyber-punk series and is well worth checking out - though if you do, try to see the version with the U.K. VHS soundtrack as it fits a lot better than the DVD version's.

None of these things are liked here, if you change it up however, you will find this to be a nice place to be.
None of these things is liked here. Sorry, I'm not deliberately picking on you, I just whimsically decided to point this out somewhere even if it kills me gets me banned.
I sure hope it doesn't get you banned. I would feel guilty as hell about it and i very well should, but thank you for tryin to help out to.

Hate Naruto, hate Bleach. I'm a Fullmetal Alchemist man, myself.
But, for me, nothing beats the very first Ghost In The Shell film.

I'd say one of these:

Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Dragonball Z

I find them all enjoyable and good to watch

Cowboy Bebop tops my list by far, it has everything I want. Death Note is also one of them, though I haven't finished that one yet.

Thank you for your suggestions i wasn't trying generalize. i may have not conveyed my feelings well because i didn't want it to be a novel so by the time i had relized it was to long i hadn't said much.
i appologiez for the spelling errors, I usualy type fast because i think fast and my hands try to catch up with my head. However I'll start taking it slower from now on and not meander so much.
my point actually was that it's just not my thing really. the part's about swords and stuff is mostly towards like final fantasy wich is in anime style mostly. but i know not all of them are like that. I've seen quite a few anime's actually beacuse most of my friends are into anime so i get alot of it, but my best friend is mostly into those types so thats what i get exposed to more often. I shouldn't have said that's what most anime's are because i know it not to be true but being exposed mostly to that type that's what i think about. I shouldn't but I do and i apologiez
I should have explained my points and feelings more celarly then I did and in the future i will keep your advice in mind. Thank you.
Try Cowboy Bebop. You might like it. You almost can't go anymore further from the "androgynous kids with massive swords' Final Fantasy type. And the soundtrack is mindblowingly awesome.
I've heard of it and I heard the theme song on a site I watch videos on and the theme song sound pretty awsome. I was thinking of checking it out but never did. I will now though thanks for the recomendation.

Nah, it's all good. Besides, even if that does happen (by some freakish anti-miracle) it'll only direct users to that precise post spreading the word. Grammar for the Grammar God! Raaargh!

Oh... er... on topic, on topic... um... yeah. Although I have to skip through the budget-saving recap episodes that plague this series, The Twelve Kingdoms is probably my favourite fantasy anime at the moment.

I was expecting tons of "Ghost in the Shell" and "X" here :S Did I miss something about those or does anyone know why they weren't mentioned here before? Because, next to Cowboy Bebop and Princess Mononoke, those are my favourites. NGE is also pretty close, especially due to the last few episodes.

Also how is saying most mainstream games suck, and saying something that (appearantly) pisses off fans of certain things, trying to fit in with the crowd? In fact he's alienated tons of veiwers and pisses tons of people off how's that fitting in exactly?
The jokes he makes, the way he puts himself across and his attitude.

I like to call it the House Syndrome. (Actually, I stole that from somewhere.)
I see what you're saying about house and about yahtzee doing the same, but that's not how I veiw it, but that's just my opinion, and to each his (or her) own, right?

I knew from the first 30 seconds of watching Elfen Lied that I would not be disappointed, and I was right! :D

Apart from that, Love Hina has a special place in my heart, since it was the first anime I ever watched, and which that goes Negima!? Basically any harem that is or pretends to be a harem anime does for me.

Sorry if I sound like an anime noob, but I only like Studio Ghibli films, mainly because of their beauty and excellent stories.
No, your not a noob for only liking Studio Ghibli, I LOVE those films.
Besides those, Trigun, Akira and Cowboy Bebop are the three greatest anime ever.
And I hate to say it, but I enjoy Naruto and DBZ a little.
I saw someone said Grave of the Fireflies, that is a great movie too.
