once more I quote myself on why I hate Halo...

"I think it's bad not terrible not good just below average, but I hate the series for what it did to fps genre as a whole and that is basically create a standard for which u can make money. I mean for a while there it looked like fps' could go anywhere because the original standard(being Doom) is only slightly more technically advanced then a Drawing on a piece of graph paper. to me it seemed that before Halo came out fps was really a genre to experiment with story telling, concept and gameplay encompassing RPG, platforming, and cinematic elements that can turn out very well done and original ideas that both take huge leaps for the genre and medium as a whole by making an interactive intelligent experience that appeals to both adults and children being both fun and philosophical but then Halo came along and somehow became extremely popular and cutting out well told story and intelligent hybrid gameplay for straight forward kill everything that moves gameplay that really set the medium back both in the eyes of the media and in my heart because of it's simple badly written story and cookie cutter characters that might as well be a reunion of the cast from predator but after 100 years so only the unlikeable ones show up and even then they don't know whats happening..."

Either Alpha Prime or Bioshock. Alpha Prime's acting was so bad it was just painful to play. Mediocre combat didn't help. I probably wouldn't hate Bioshock so much if it wasn't for the fanboys. The combat was boring, plasmids got old quick, and the plot was really stupid. Cool environments though. Note that this is only for the first Bioshock, I don't know if Bioshock 2 is any good.

There's a lot of other games I only hate for the hype it gets. Fallout 3, Call of Duty, and Halo are some examples.

Maybe the requirements of being considered a QTE should be a separate thread. There's some major thread-jacking going on.

Eragon, worst game i've ever played and the reason that i don't buy games until there's at least 10 reviews up on metacritic anymore.

The Halo series as a whole. The fact that anyone thought the first game needed a sequel, let alone SPIN-OFF sequels, makes me facepalm so hard.
Good point. What has Bungie made other than Halo anyhow?

every CDi game, all Sonics since Sonic 06 (which was also terrible), the Conduit, MW2 (give me a longer single player with more explosions damnit!) and the Halo series. Oh and /shudder powerdrome on the PS2. It was not worth the two and a half dollars I paid for it.

In general: Zelda (with a few exceptions), Final Fantasy, Halo, and Civ 4 (as it is the only Civilization I've played and it didn't sell me on the series at all). I could also say RTS games, but that might be a bit much because they aren't all boring micro-management games that take too long to play (I assume).

Final Fantasy 7 I can't stand the game the constant plot holes, the consistent belief by its fans that its the greatest game ever made.

GBA version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It's the only game I can truly say I 'hate'. I was just expecting a nice handheld Diablo clone, along the lines of the GBA Lord of the Rings games. That's pretty much what the console version is, after all. I figured if a movie game can pull it off fine on a handheld, then MUA certainly would.

Instead it was a completely broken beat em' up that I'm pretty sure was developed in under a day using Microsoft Paint.

Final Fantasy, that franchise should have ended a long, long time ago, and any other JRPG you care to mention. "Me and JRPGs have this mutual understanding: I don't play them and they can suck as much as they like somewhere far away from me."

Fallout 3 and Oblivion: simply because I really can't become immersed in the grind of wandering around a barren wasteland with rarely a soul in sight to communicate with for long periods at a time. I love it when I'm playing as a character accompanied by a small group of friends or comrades (but they all have to be well developed, not HAZE or Halo).

The Darkness. Why can't I walk faster? Where am I going? Did I miss that tenticle ability completely?

Right now it's FFXIII. I still can't get over what a massive letdown that game was.
But of all time it'd probably be any Fifa/Pro Evo/Football Manager game since I cannot stand football (that's European, not American. I actually love American Football)
