We're a cute, little, water-front tourist town with a hell. of a lot. of rain.

Also, we get some flak from the rednecks next door for being kind of stuck up. We've got a lot of gated communities.

Where I was born, lots of black people and being the county with the second highest murder rate in the country (america.) Also being close to Washington D.C.

Where I live now, it used to be a mass producer of plate glass. It also has a massive cathedral and was just made a historical landmark. Pretty sweet.

I'm tempted to ask if you mean Southampton... I visited there recently. The little town across the water is nicer though. it also has a few important historic things :)
and then back to my own country.

Anyway, my hometown is known for... wait, it's pretty much unknown.

To be honest, I'm not sure what Moncton, NB is famous for.

Other then the over abundance of french teenagers putting loud mufflers on their honda civics and revving till the engine dies in the city.

Nope, Newport. We were one of the top coal exporters in the world, and the Welsh coal we exported was the best in the world.

Maidenhead: Being the residence of famous people who want to live near London, and having a bridge built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. He must be quite a guy if his middle name's "Kingdom"

Anyone else on the Escapist from there?

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. Of the top of my head this city is known for:

Ship building, brown ale, a football team that mostly sucks but has the most rabid of fans, women who go out clubbing and never put a coat on even if it is minus 9c outside, an accent that is often baffling, Gazza, Fog on the Tyne...and about 50 more cliches and stereotypes.

I originally came from Milton Keynes, which is most well known for having hundreds of roundabouts in the road system and being so concerned about over-urbanisation that they compensated by putting a herd of concrete cows in a small field...
Woo go Milton Keynes!

[small]I live there![/small]
