Well, lag on MW2 has gotten me pretty used to being a sniper or someone sneaky, gotta shoot about 2 metres in front of them, in the direction that they're running though...

I usually like to serve as an offensive force. Bullet sponge, distraction, stupid noob; what have you. I tried the support role, but I'm too unpredictable, and I never show up where I'm wanted. I'm pretty good at killing the enemy, usually a 2:1 kill/death ratio, I'm always the guy that throws the grenade, and I'm the guy that charges the enemy formation.

Depends on the game. In shooters I'm the one holding the cheap yet effective gun and either charging or ambushing the enemy. In sports games I'm the one winning. In tactical/strategy games I'm the one with the solid defense while everyone else on my team focuses on the offense.

whether it be an fps or mmorpg, i find myself often acting as support; i will follow my leader and their orders, give them coverfire, heal my commrads, etc
tho sometimes in FPSs, when nobody seems to step up to act as a leader to the group, i might sometimes step in, and try providing direction and support to my team.

i guess i act this same way in real life, too. i will follow orders given, and seek direction from my leader, but if nobody steps up to act as leader, i will,

I'm mostly a lone wolf...I'll help out if a team mate is getting shot at from somewhere, but otherwise I'm on my own.

Medic, because I have a horrible shot.
Kind of funny, since I absolutely hate the idea of being some kind of medical professional IRL. If fact, helping others isn't a terribly appealing concept for me.

Bullet Magnet/rusher...seriously 5 guys in an enemies line of sight and closer to him than me and I'm the one that gets riddled with bullets while they sit and stare...then they shoot him after I'm dead. Anyway...I try and rush the enemy or flank, usually I'm using a sniper rifle/smg and am good at cooking grenades and getting enemies dead on with said nades.

Really kinda depends if I'm Attacking or Defending.

If I'm on Defense like the Survivors in Left 4 Dead or on Dustbowl in TF2, I end up acting as the major defensive player. Often finding myself defending the important targets. Be it the Control Point or a Teammate reviving a downed teammate.

If I'm attacking, I act as the distraction. Often playing as the spy and eliminating important enemies in TF2 through stealth or through keeping the enemy team from progressing forward for a few seconds so my team can respawn and attack back.

Most of the time, I end up playing pretty aggressive defense in TF2 i.e., patrolling base as soldier, demo, and pyro. When my team's on offense, I usually am the guy to blow up sentries. On PL, I move the cart.

I am what they call "The Tool". Nobody will run out in the open so they wait for me to bum rush a tank

Guard/Cannon fodder in MW2. In some maps I can find a nice defencable position and in others I just run with the pack and hope to not get shot.

I don't play team games online, but in real life, when I'm on any sort of team I always end up in a support role---I'm the treasurer of the campus entrepreneurship club, keeping the financial wheels greased for club activities. On basketball teams I'm a pass-first point guard who distributes the ball and plays good defense.

Basically, the real life equivalent of the "medic" in TF2!

Well the game I play competitively most is Gears of War 2, and usually with my cousin. He got me into it, so he's a bit better than me, so usually I just go tag-team with him. No real role there, just helping my teammate out.
