I want to buy an Xbox 360 and I'm thinking I'll have DMC4 and Halo 3, Fable 2 and other of those M rated games, but I don't know which one to buy? Should I spend my money on the arcade or save up for an elite?

Arcade is a bit useless for it has no hard drive (pretty much mandatory) and if you are not going to download and store every single video and demo while playing simultaniously several games (images stored on hard drive, you have no need for the elite, besides that cool black color.

Middle road is the golden choice here once again.

I would go for a elite because of the bigger harddrive. It gives you space to store your games and so on. But as long as you dont pick the arcade, you should be okay.

Why not go in the middle and get a standard one?
That's what I'd do. I might be missing something here, but is there really a vast difference between a standard and an elite Xbox aside from the bigger HDD?

I'm actually very satisfied with the middle ground 360. The only reason I want an elite is because my TV is short on component inputs and has more HDMI than I know what to do with.

Here is a hint. Dont get a 360, this is going to be the 360s worst year, with no decent exclusives, the only one really being Alan Wake, and that is coming to PC any way, get a PS3, as some one who owns both, I am glad i got mine, this will truly be an awesome year for the PS3

Only difference between elite and standard is that the elite is black, has a bigger hard drive and might have a couple of extra cables in the box.

Standard has enough storage space if you don't want to store everything for a really long time.

60GB in standard is easily enough. Game stored in your hard drive takes 9GB tops, most take 5 or 6. Put in a couple of demos, game downloaded from the shops and few videos and you still have more than 20GB free. There is no need to pay for the extra space.

EDIT. New standard consoles also have HDMI-port. They have had it from the start of this year if I remember correctly. I personally have standard and use HDMI.

The big question here is; Do you have a HDTV? If yes, go Elite, if not, go standard. Stay away from the arcades.

There is no need to go elite with HDTV, standard has the same ports and connections as the elite now. If you buy a new console, it will had HDMI. Just don't go with the arcade.

You dont need an elite unless you plan on keeping countless movies and shows on it. I have EVERY SONG for rock band 2 and GH world tour as well as all the map packs for gears 1 and 2 and halo 3. I also have ALOT of arcade games... im talking like 10+ and I still have 5gb left on the 20gb. The standard comes with 60gb now so there is absolutly NO NEED for a 120gb hd unless you want to keep all of your games on it. I dont see the need though, halo 3 doesnt work when its installed and I notice a very small difference when i had blue dragon and Mass effect installed on load times. so really get the standard with the 60gb hd and you will be fine.

Saving games on hard drives does boost the loading speeds. One such is Fable 2. It really depends on the game how much it will boost it, but it will. Some speed up by one second in load times, some by ten.

Get the Standard (aka "Pro") Xbox 360.

Arcades are useless and Elites are overpriced.

If you've got the money, spring for the Elite for two reasons.

1.) The HDMI cable delivers much better audio and slightly better video than the standard input cables.

2.) You can save games on your hard drive. Not game files, mind you, but the actual games themselves, and the Elite's bigger hard drive will give you more room to do so.

I bought the regular, and I constantly wish I'd bought the Elite.

The person is interested in already released games 2 of which are 360 Exclusive. Take your fanboy ways elsewhere. OP wants a 360, there is no mention of PS3. Now stop trying to start flamewars.

Are you even reading the posts before you? These matters have been adressed on several posts.

1. Standard (aka. the pro) HAS a hdmi port now. Every new standard console has it.

2. 60GB is enough to store you games in it. You can store ten or nine games on it at the same time. After you are done with a game, delete it from you hard drive. At tops, I have had three games on my hard drive at once.

Yeah. And in some countries, PS3 costs as much as a good gaming PC. And almost twice as much as an Xbox 360.
