Pretty much what the topic title says, is there a movie that not many people have heard of that you really like to watch and sometimes you don't tell people because they might judge you? Not here! *pulls shirt collar awkwardly* But do share, I'm looking for less mainstream movies to watch :)
And my movie that I love to watch is Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. It's a kid's movie but it's ridiculously good and I love Toy Story, so win :)

Its Kevin Smith's 1st movie and definitely one of the best movies from the 90s.

- Memento
- The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (fairly large budget I imagine, not a mainstream film)
- Moon

And others. I don't mention them because a lot of people I know wouldn't have heard of them or be interested in watching them, not because they're bad or embarrassing (by any stretch of the imagination).

Running With Scissors. At least I don't think it's mainstream. Most people don't even know it's a movie, much less a movie based on a memoir.

Some I would have included myself. I personally loved The Ghost Writer and Buried from last year. Great movies. Also, as a personal favorite in terms of film altogether, Barton Fink is a phenomenal movie that I'm sure that no one I personally know has seen.

The Parking Lot movie! One of the best documentary films I have ever witnessed.

Phantom from Space gets an honorable mention. It was one of the more entertaining b-movies of the 50s.

-The Last Minute
-Akira*(Original Version)
-Drop Dead Gorgeous

Most of those Kurosawa flicks weren't mainstream in the United States and Africa, but were very huge in Japan and Europe for some reasoning. And an added note would be, that the measure of their mainstream appeal doesn't seem to match their influence on contemporary filmmaking.

*I know its anime but most people I have asked in the United States have not heard of it; and the new version is sure to bust blocks, blow minds, and assorted bollocks...

Footrot Flats - The Dog's Tail Tale.
My favourite movie of all time. I've got the collector's edition DVD, and I'll never stop loving it. :D
