Not true I have loved FFVI since before I came to the escapist (It was my second ever RPG, after FFIV) and I have been telling people how great it is in MANY threads before Yahtzee said he liked it. (which I just learned now that he liked it) I haven't watched Zero Punctuation on god knows how long.sagacious said:

What the devil are you talking about? Not everyone on the Escapist are a bunch of Yahtzee tards. You can guarantee that in any general Final Fantasy thread, you will see plenty of people praising 6. It's been popular long before any of Yahtzee's reviews and it only got a boost of popularity now because it was rather unexpected that our prime JRPG hater happened to LIKE FF6.sagacious said:

Yes, it is that good. I hear from my girlfriend that 4 was pretty good too. The only two in the series I really liked were 6 and 9 though.
To tell the truth, I have never actually beaten the game, mainly because it is so long, that I get side tracked with actual life and I can't get back to it. Then when I do, I start at the beginning because I can't remember what I was doing when I left off.(Where I have to travel next.)JEBWrench said:

I think most of they hype is rose tinted spectacle syndrome, FF6 is in the past, the fact that it is heralded as the best in the series is not an indication of how good it was, it is an indication of how poor SE have been.

2 years ago was the last time I played it. If it wasn't for Star Oceans: Second Story (I never beat that one, though I've beaten FF6 a few times), I'd probably be playing it now.Entropyutd said:

Final Fantasy 6 is easily one of the best Final Fantasy games out there, if not one of the best RPGs period. The characters are balanced and engaging, the story really captures you in it, and you could not ask for a more awesome villain than Kefka. I mean come on he (spoiler alert) manages to destroy the world by the end of the first half of the game! If that's not awesome proof of your prowess as a villain then I don't know what is.
Besides, he's not all evil. He's just gone batshit bonkers! And I still think its funny when he makes his lackeys clean sand out of his boots in the desert ^^

okay, well i'd rather have "sephiroth" (spelling) anyday, then to have someone like kefka, because it causes a massive facepalm when i see the main villian that just LOOKS like a jokeSuilenroc said:

It has character that you really care about when you play, tons of spells, fucking great story, its got some of the best comedy skits I have ever seen, ff7 is good cause people fell in love with the one winged angel which is over rated in my opinion....they are both equal as some of the best rpgs ever created, im an old school player whos seen them all starting out with the atari 2600, try ff6 and confirm for yourself to see if it better than 7 you might be surprised
