the only reason im here is because of zp - and partly de-rez.

I normally post on CVg forums - too many people on this site and your posts just get buried.
get community over on cvg

I do my best good friend, I do my best!

"And what's the deal with Yahtzee's hat? Is he a member of the Brat Pack or something?"

Hey, if ZP wasn't around we would never have gotten;

xitel's holly fiasco
PurpleRain's orphan feastings
UltraJoe's...well, ultraness
RichardGroovyPants's....pants?
Jumplion's....ermmm....child's laughter? NO WAIT! Stick-Avatars!

Or whatever, alot of the veterans here appeared because the ZP videos introduced us to the Escapist.

Now, I love Yahtzee's videos more or less, and I have no problem with the traffic he brings. More members in the Escapist, and hopefully more of the good ones. It's the little tikes that come here more often in the ZP section though. I don't normally go to the comments section in the videos, but when I do venture there it's the near equivialent of 4Chan. Okay, that was extreme, but you get the idea.

But, if we hopefully get more intelligent people, then I'm not complaining.

Yeah, I gotta agree w/ most everyone else on the subject. I came here for ZP originally, but I joined the forums a year later and I really like it here. But a lot of other people just come here to be asses. I have no problem w/ that seeing as they all get banned anyways; everyone that matters stays on.

I joined here cause Yahtzee is someone I can relate to in many ways, and I hoped the forum would yield to me an abundance of neat people to talk to and laugh with.

My sad story begins when I was one of the elites on a forum on the site for tourettes guy.
It was the most amazingly hilarious and awesome forum ever, and we were all so tight fitted that we could basically filter the crappy unfunny people out from cool people, just by shunning them.

But that's been gone for lo' these many many months, and for nearly a year now I've never been able to find a forum with as much ridiculously awesome spunk as that forum had.
There's always so many people that are complete narcissistic morons who want nothing more than popularity and the feeling of importance among complete strangers.

The internet is a dark cold place for me now : (

(ps. We did worship TG, but we hated everyone who came in blurting quotes and babble. So I guess that just means you need to show tough love?
...Fuck me, I don't know shit..)

I love Zero Punctuation. It taught me to be a more discerning consumer. Zero Punctuation is what brought me here. I didn't know anything about the escapist except "it has those hilarious reviews that I saw on X Play." It got me into commenting on threads like this one.
Shine on Yahtzee.

I don't hate ZP, in fact I enjoy watching it. I hate its fanboys, the ones who register only to lavish yes-men praise on Yahtzee, and who troll the other forums quoting lines from his reviews as a cheap, thought-free substitute for having their own opinions.

ZP fanboys are the reason that every single thread here on RPGs immediately devolves into a JRPG-bashing marathon.

ZP fanboys is the reason that every thread involving a Nintendo game devolves into an Nintendo-bashing marathon.

We aren't allowed to like things anymore, and we have ZP fanboys to thank for that.

The ZP fanboys are what people don't like. They're the ones with poor grammer and spelling who always quote Yahtzee and have unoriginal Yahtzee avatars.

This.

word. for. word.

Every time a fecking ZP video get's posted you instantly get a 'OMG another amazing review from yahtzee!' or 'yahtzee does it again!' and it sickens me to the very core of my being.

But It's almost become impossible to actually like a jRPG or a Nintendo game on this site because of the bloody fanboys, as stated above. It also doesn't help that people truly think that Yahtzee is the only trustworthy reviewer around, something that has been irritating me since I saw it on these forums some months ago.

And I know that those same fanboys will bring their retarded friends (from gametrailers) and then It's only a matter of time before this website becomes another game trailers, a 'ps3 is beating 360' or 'why 360 is the best console on earth' thread is on the front page almost every single time and if not that then it's about one of the consoles being better than the rest or about killzone 2 vs crysis. And dare you even go into one of the threads.....

Hell if you don't believe me check it now http://www.gametrailers.com

It was Zero Punctuation that alerted me to this site.

I have noticed all of the little Yahtzee fanboys and think they're pathetic. Not playing a game because Yahtzee doesn't like it? Now, that's just stupid. He's just one guy. A very witty one, but nonetheless, one guy. He thinks Sonic's shit now whereas Sonic Unleashed is one of my current favourite games. Sometimes I'll watch a video and think, "Now that's just bullshit!" but other times, it's like he's tapped into my brainwaves. He thinks in a very similar way to myself, which is cool.

A Super Smash Bros Brawl fan in my school actually changed his opinion on the game because Yahtzee didn't like it. I'm not even joking. He was a total SSBB fanboy, I introduced him to ZP, ZP reviewed it and then he was going around saying "Psh, you still play SSBB? It's a shit game... and you have to unlock Snake and Sonic, which is bullshit seeing as they were whored so much!" I, for one, almost died laughing when I heard him ranting on in a pseudo-ZP manner on games that he would have liked but didn't even bother playing it.

I'll just like to make it clear that I really do like ZP, just not the deranged monkey fanboys who want to lick him all over.

I like ZP, it's what introduced me to The Escapist actually. Its the rabid fanboys that barge in and spout the same repeated Yahtzee quotes over and over, substituting them for an actual personal opinion and common sense that get to me.

It's not specifically Yahtzee hate. Yahtzee came. Then came a lot of fans some of which tried to post here (usually trolls or idiots) and people get right pissed off at that. Occasionally a few good "Post-ers" comes forward from the masses and become a welcome member of the site *points at self*.

Most people that don't like it seem to kick a sulk because he disses their "BEST GAME EVAR", others see him as puerile and there's that lovely crowd who don't like it because they're determined to go against every trend and only like things that aren't as popular.

I personally enjoy ZP, although it doesn't make me laugh out loud anymore, rather just a constant chuckle. But that'll happen after a year and a half.
