I've never been put off playing a game because of its age. I'll happily play old games as long as they're fun.

Probably Super Mario Bros, but since that one is fucking obvious, I'll go with Monkey Island 1. That shit is just too awesome.

my computer does not handle new games :/ So I only play retro games. Doom, The Lost Vikings, Jill of the jungle, Sid Meiers Alpha Centuri, Comander Keen, Sid Meiers pirates (2004 remake). Who can forget Tetris? Also I never liked chess that much. Ooooo I also love Nintendo! Zelda, Mario, Pokemon

For the record I have a 2009 iMac so I do play new games but not every one supports the hardware. TF2 does!

I don't play many games older that PlayStation, so probably the Crash and Spyro games.

I honestly think that Syndicate looks good. To me, old games can stand up great looks-wise from the NES onward. When Nintendo ported Super Mario World 2 to the GameBoy Advance, it looks as if the graphics were unchanged. Many of the SNES 2D games have awesome aesthetic and looks for games running on 16-bit!

But yeah, by my standards, Syndicate is pretty. Imagine what the best looking modern games are to me.

Super Mario Bros, no question there.

It's still just as good as it was when I first played it. ^^

There are a lot, I generally get more pleasure from playing old games than new ones. However the most consistent game I go back to is Doom for the PC.
You just can't go wrong with pixelated carnage.

Currently playing through Shin Megami Tensei I for the second time, although that might not count because I only played it for the first time about a year ago.

Now, an older game I got on the release date that I still enjoy: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. But honestly, how could you ever NOT enjoy that?

Megaman 2 is still one of the most pitch perfect side scrolling platformers I've ever played. A lot of my favorite games of that era show their age poorly. (Ghosts N' Goblins, Castlevania, Metroid etc...)

But I can still pop in Megaman 2 and enjoy it just as much now as I did when I was a kid.

Nethack is older than I am by about 4 years and goddamn do I enjoy having it kick my ass. I might ascend. One day. In a few years when I've learned the aspects of the game a lot better. And stop running out of food and starving to death before Floor 10.
