My hair's halfway down my back. I swore that I wouldn't cut my hair ever since I saw Wayne's World. I know, I have crap reasons not to cut my hair.

the only people who have harassed/teased me about long hair is my family, calls me a hippie

i'm really growing it out for 2 reasons, my girlfriend wanted to see me with long hair, and i'm in an American revolution fife and drum core, and want to be more "authentic" so i'm growing out my hair

Until about 3 weeks ago, I had long hair. Generally people liked it. I think I look better with short hair though.

I get yelled at by passing cars and random people in the street because I have long hair, which is weird for me because It's always washed and most of the time tied back so it looks respectable. I bet if I was to cut my hair, they'd yell "MIGHTY FUCK! GET YOUR EARS PINNED BACK!".

As stated before, most males up until early 1900s had long hair, and it was in WW1 that they cut it all off, including the beards, because of mud and lice in the trenches. It started to ween back in during the 60s, kicked in pretty heavily in the 70s and 80s and then started to die back off during the 90s. I've never looked at someone sideways that had long hair, massive dread-locks or anything, because as far as I'm concerned, it's just hair. Lots of facial piercings on the other hand gets a stare from me.

I feel like an idiot.

What exactly is a "chav"?
British slang for someone who wears tracksuits, talks as if the suburbs misses their village moron, strangely violent like a bunch of enranged clowns and they most likely chug diesel to replace alcohol, as usually they're too young for that stuff.

Nothing wrong with it in my book, to an extent, I prefer it.

With that in mind, let me just say that I seriously envy every single one of you in this thread right now. You have the hair that I want, but can never have. *sadface*

dont worry bout it its your choice about how you look
if they dont like it then they can go somwhere else.

Whats a Chav? (I only read first page and saw no one ask and I am not from England and I assume this is a group or slang for a group)

i too live in the north of england (leeds) and have long hair, havent had any problems regarding it. the beard, deep voice and thousand yard stare seem to keep me off peoples aggression radar.

long hair/short hair its all personal preference as long as it doesnt affect your job (get caught in machinery etc).

Kiutu - a chav is a the generic 10-18 yr old jobless/under educated/violent male and female SCUM that hang around our streets and have (according to our media) initiated the biggest period of public fear and resentment this country has had for about 60 years. search any british news sites for stories relating to chavs, you'll get the picture.

People give me crap for having long hair, but hey most of them are old balding men.It does not really bother me.
Same here :/ Being Asian and having 5 feet of hair does attract some weird people.

Never been to England, so I wouldn't know...
It's probably most asians with long hair are super cute, and weird guys like asians. Don't hate it, embrace it! As for me, I too am a guy with long hair! I'm thinking about cutting it though...(maybe I should start a poll!)

You should try South Wales. You know, the place where the 'emos' are chavs, the 'goths' are chavs, the 'nerds' are chavs and even that one girl who still likes barbie and has no friends is a chav.

Yeah, THEN it's hard to have long hair. It's hard, because people keep trying to pull it off you.

Okay I kid... About a little bit, anywho...

Nah, people don't mess with me 'n my hair, mostly 'cause I payed a kid to spread a rumour that I have Mafia connections, but still...

I am one of the two people in my school who has long hair, however. And he... I don't like to talk about it...

And yes, I made this account merely to make this point.

I grew up in a town just outside Manchester, and where I lived there were a lot of chavs who would kick off just for the sake of it, or to look hard in front of the equally chavtastic girls that they were knocking about with. If you have long hair they assume that you are a mosher/emo/goth etc and so will quite happily give you a load of shit, despite never having seen you before. If they are shouting at you, it just means that they want you to throw the first punch, cause they won't unless they outnumber you 3:1. I have, and always have had short hair, but that doesn't mean to say they don't find something else to yell at you about.

I've had loooong hair for years.
Chicks love it, I like it and its Metal \m/

If anyone has a problem with me and my hair, I reserve the right to "physically educate" them about the mistake they are making by interrupting me as I go about my business.

Short hair is just the popular thing to have right now i guess. I have long hair and I get some crap for it but I just ignore them and move on.

I have shoulder legnth hair, but i have never really got any stick for it, the worst i have had is being called a "gaybob" or "jessie" by the local neds/chavs, but then again, who gives a crap what they think. My dad frequently moans at me about my hair, but i put that down to jealousy as he is bald!
