While you two are complete dumbasses for disobeying the OP's religion rule I must commend you for standing up for Christianity, I'm so sick of those athiest bastards who seem to think that Christianity is crazy yet their lack of scientific proof for things like the big bang go unskepticised. I only hate the ones that hate us, the others are perfectly fine.
Now now, reign in the commendments a little. Im not sticking up for Christianity, Islam or Judaism in any way. There's plenty of inconsistencies in all of those religions and I could (and have) picked them apart, and even know of plenty of arguments that it would actually be quite evil paying respects or worship to the gods as they are presented.
Like I said, im a sceptic agnostic, meaning that I have a heavy scepticism towards pretty much all of the established religious cults and for good reason too.
The difference between me and the rather unscientific atheists is that I would never make such an unscientific claim that gods cannot exist at all. I do find the theory of the Christian god to be highly improbable though.
But I really can't start a debate on that matter here because that would be grossly off-topic so I'll settle with this:
It doesn't really matter what Christians believe (remember, religion is about faith, it's not about trying to prove people that your faith is the right one) or what I believe in this matter. As long as other Christians keep their faith to themselves, and let us "heathens and heretics" do as we please, they can believe whatever they want. They have their reasons for their beliefs just like I have my reasons for my beliefs. Even if the Christians would be right, God will certainly sort us all out in the end, and we "heretics and heathens" are obviously willing to pay the price of hellfire if we're wrong so there's no reason for any christian to try to convert us or any other who would try to oppose God's will.
There's no reason to bicker. If the christians can just embrace the fact that religious beliefs is about faith, not evidence or trying to convince others, and atheists and agnosticists embracing the fact that we live in societies that permit free religious beliefs where people do have the choice to be christians if they want, I think we can all be pretty happy about it.
See? Rather than starting religious flamewars I might actually be averting them. As long as people have a little tolerance, and stay away from the compulsion of trying to "save" the other side with the "one true argument"...
