you know... real punk not this new crap... I don't even know what to call it..
It's called pop punk. I like some pop punk bands (ie. Green Day), but most are crap (ie. Fall Out Boy) and even when they are good- it's not nearly as good as real punk

Fall Out Boy is considered Pop Punk? Since when? How can any of their songs compare to the awesomeness of Welcome to Paradise or Longview? How!?

I'm not a punk rock fan, but I do enjoy Green Day. That's about it really, I'm more of a metal head.

Honestly, I'm with you on MCR. I dug their last album, it's got a great glam rock proto-punk quality to it all, and their cover of Bob Dylan's Desolation Row is a straight punk rock tune, I don't care what anyone says.

Well if you dig irish folk punk you might dig some eastern european folk punk. Do check out Gogol Bordello if you haven't already!

New punk scares me. It's degraded to the level of scene-kid music. The only band of the punk genre I can honestly say I've liked is Misfits.

Hm...I'm not really that into Punk rock as far as I know. Any examples of Punk bands I might know about?
You could try the Sex Pistols, try this. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeP220xx7Bs]
It's not for everyone, though.
There's also The Ramones (I Wanna be Sedated [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMD7Ezp3gWc]) and The Clash (Should I Stay or Should I Go [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ag8J2NMYmc]) for some well known punk bands.

Personally, my favourite would probably be the Sex Pistols.

Face to Face always love the Misfits as well though ... I'm old though and not familiar with "new" punk

Jonas Brothers! How can you not go wrong with music like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNPg2j4B1r4&feature=email

OT: Pixies, Rage Against the Machines, Green Day (I think they are punk).

I enjoy The Ramones, Green Day (pre-American Idiot), Operation Ivy, Pennywise, Rise Against, The Briggs, and Reel Big Fish. Some ska in there, but I consider them to be the same thing, really.

NoFX.

Any band that record live albums where they are clearly too inebriated to remember their own songs are punk legends.
