American Final Fantasy II is really FFIV, and FFIII is FFVI. When FFIV was ready to come to America, several NES FFs had already been released in Japan. America never saw those, so they felt it would make more sense to simply make it number two. Same with VI/III. Once VI had been successful, and they knew they'd release VII to both Japan and America, they ditched the renumbering. Gametrailers.com has a great explanation of the series, btw, that explains a lot of this.Quaidis said:One thing I cannot understand about Final Fantasy is the number scheme before seven. Which number was what now?

Yes, I know...
I just can't help but love the Epic Political Story, The Realistic World, The Awesome Soundtrack and the Excellent Visual Design presented in the game. That there are about 30 Hours of Good Game there, there's just that boring as hell 20 Hour Gap between the first good 25 and the last good 5.
If you want to ignore my obsession with Good World Building...
I'd have to say Final Fantasy 6 or Final Fantasy 9,
One's a classic and the other has the Best Characters and the Second Best World in Final Fantasy history... the last 1/4 of 9 just happens to be really crappy.
I lold, good one.Redtiebear said:Lost Odyssey = FF10 if it was good and made sense.DannyBoy451 said:Play Lost Odyssey, at some point it'll all make sense.iain62a said:It's probably best if I don't say anything about JRPGs in this thread.
