The worlds first Burberry store was opened here.

Liz Hurley grew up here.

274' high Fanum House is the tallest building between London and New York which is here.

Weighing in at 7 tonnes, the Wote Street Willie is the largest phallus on public display in Britain.

The railway station's gents' toilet was bombed by the IRA in 1993, and the macheted to death body of a Buddhist monk was found in a suitcase left there aswell

The Canal linked to London when built it had the world's longest canal tunnel, which is now a home for Britain's largest bat colony

In 2002 the town was chosen as the site for the first licensed crop of poppies grown in Britain for commercial opiate manufacture

We have the largest banana ripening warhouse in europe

Our roundabouts were mentioned in the HitchHikers guide to the galaxy

Use to be famous for being the main destination of The Trail of Tears but now it's just famous for being the home of Garth Brooks. Sure shows the downfall of civilization.

The big city my hometown is a suburb of is known for being in the movie The Outsiders. Not the entire movie, just the drive-in scene. That drive-in is where I saw such movies as Revenge of the Nerds and Godzilla 1986 as a kid.

Also the movie Twister was filmed all around here.
