Please tell me someone on this thread saw the new South Park episode concerning this.

EDIT: Just how true is it that Jersey people are accurately portrayed in the above pic?

I know two guys who were from New Jersey who came to South Carolina for college. Think about that for a second.

If the OP wants to talk about fake t.v. then fine.

If the OP has a hate filled bundle of shame against Kentucky or New Jersey, fine.

But when you compare New Jersey to Kentucky, you are way the fuck out of line in my book.

LOL! Just kidding.

I have never heard of, nor do I understand, what you mean by a comparison on this one.

Cool people exist in every city.

It's a fact.
In the South, we see Kentucky as the amalgamation of all of the worst qualities of the South. Here, we're of the feeling: Shit, I may be from the South, but I'm not from Kentucky!" My old roommate was from Kentucky. His uncle brewed moonshine in his bathtub. This is not an uncommon practice in that part of the state. I'm merely wondering if there is a fair comparison. Also, I don't have anything against Kentucky or people from there, I merely acknowledge that it's...different there.
As a man from Kentucky, I have not done the following

1.Made moonshine
2.gone out in public without shoes on
3.fucked any of my cousins/sisters

Your room mate was probably from Eastern Kentucky. And all they know down there is coal mining and meth.

Heh. All those Northeasterners don't hate New Jersey enough to not clog the roads and fill the beaches every damned summer. New Jersey is often blamed for two equally disastrous things that actually come from Staten Island: the syringe tide, and guidos.
Yeah, after you're done making daily commute on the Parkway a nightmare from buyin up crap under less sales tax, how bout you go right back to where you came from. Freakin' tourists.

If you haven't seen it the latest south park episode was really entertaining. Jersey became cool when Bravo and MTV began pimping out realty TV series and saddly the Shore is wildly popular. I will always hod NJ dearly in my heart because of atlantic city the vegas of the east and its where NYC dumps all thier trash. MUFF CABBAGE.
People still watch that show?
(Ok, that was unfair.)

Seriously, anyone who hates NJ hasn't ever had Taylor ham or a fried hot dog...or ever been to a NJ diner.
Judge not a state by its greasey Italian haircuts, but by its greasey Italian sausages, also the "Fat Sandwiches" at Rutgers.

At what point did it become acceptable to be from New Jersey? Wasn't it always one of 'those' states? Isn't New Jersey for the North like Kentucky is for the South?

-note: I'm not mocking everyone from New Jersey, but I'm making fun of the show and the culture following it.
Ya I don't know where you got that from but I'm pretty sure New Jersey is still referred to as a cesspool. (No offense to people who live there, I once did too.)

All this hate for New Jersey. The Boss is from Jersey. I'd be guessing 1973 when he released his first album was when New Jersey became cool.

Honestly, I'm not so naive that I'd ever make rash generalizations about someone based on the state they're from. I'm from NJ and I always get this mix of extreme approval or disapproval based on silly misconceptions and it's retarded. I think it's just that people who live in less populated areas of the US all wish their lives were less boring and decide to hate us for having a state packed full of people.

Either way, I urge people to come here and just try to be nice to other generally nice people instead of silently hating them.

I lost my virginity in New Jersey. So for me NJ became cool in the summer of 1994.

New Jersey isn't cool.
It's only more notable because of that show starring those orange creatures.

New Jersey was never cool, nor shall it ever be cool. But it is an overcast, depressing state!
