When I say Final Fantasy, who comes to mind?

Auron, Kefka, Balthier and Jecht all spring to mind whenever anyone mentions Final Fantasy, and they are certainly my favourite characters of the series.
Auron was just an awesome badass mentor, with some brilliant moves and a fantastic design, Balthier was a pretty good representation of a sky pirate, as well as being suave, sophisticated and handy with a gun, Jecht was one of the coolest villains in a Final Fantasy game ever, I think, and Kefka... well, he's just Kefka. He's a superb villain. Fantastic characterisation, a nice and simple goal and he's an unsympathetic git who I still love.
And you know Kefka, he hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate HATE, HATE, HATES YOU!

OT: I dunno. A specific character never really comes to mind, though I do have alot of personal favorites. (Rinoa, Auron, Barret, Yuna, etc), but I digress, I guess the thing that really hits home for me is Yuna and Tidus in FFX, and Squall in FF8. Squall hit home as a character for me, and I will NEVER forget the first time I used Lion Heart an opponent and sent them to hell and back with the max dmg in the game. For Yuna and Tidus, for lack of a better word, it probably was the cutest ideal couple I'd seen portrayed in a loooong time, and probably the most memorable ending to a sad game.
I had the greatest idea the other day on how to make Auron EVEN COOLER. Instead of Banishing Blade or whatever being his strongest overdrive, it should have been General Leo's SHOCK move.

But yeah, the entire cast of FF III (VI for those of you who are anti-SNES) stands out for me as well. Probably because that was the first installment I played in the series and is still my favorite.

I usually think of either Tifa, Aerith, Auron, or Squall when someone or something mentions Final Fantasy and it registers right into my mind.
To be honest, I'd like there to be a 'Dissidia - Final Fantasy: Extreme Beach Volleyball.' Watch characters like Tifa, Aerith, Yuffie, Elena, Riona, Quistis, Selphie, Edea, Dagger, Beatrix, Ruby, Lani, Yuna, Rikku, Lulu, Paine, Ashe, Penelo, Fran, Mjrn, Lightning, Vanille, Fang, and Jihl all in skimpy bikini's playing volleyball.Marik2 said:And I think of this whenver someone talks about FF as well.
Cloud comes to mind for me. Partially because he's one of the most recognizable characters and because a friend of mine has VII (Last time I checked) and we'd play it together when we'd hang out. Although these aren't characters per say, more like 'common themes', I'll say Chocobos and underdressed girls come to mind as well.

On topic. I don't really think of any one person, I think of the game. If somebody says "say the first person that comes to mind you thin of final fantasy", I would say Tidus.
FFX is the only one I have completed the story to and you spend most of the game staring at him slowly running around. Auron would be next, 'cos I wondered for ages why he has one arm not in it's sleeve. Apparently 'cos he's based on a group of warriors who do the same.
