Cid (the red-bearded maniac from IV in particular) and Kefka. Cid for being just Cid, the loony mechanical genius, and kefka for that awesome little laughing animation of his. Never before or since has so much outright evil madness poured out of so few pixels.

Hm not many people have named a baddym but the one that first springs to mind for me is Sephiroth I mean how awsome can you get.

...how? Aren't there far more memorable characters that pre-date FFVII? Hell, the Black Mage is something I associate strongly with Final Fantasy. Not to mention it's the 12-year-olds that fell in love with Cloud/Sephiroth.

Well what i mean is, if you were ever around during the time it was released and all the hype was surrounding it, they'd stick in your mind. I know they stuck in mine and it's not even my favourite FF game.

Character wise... Cloud... Not because I want him to represent the series, just because when someone makes a Final Fantasy thread(Excluding the couple of months after a new release), it's usually about Final Fantasy VII.

Game wise? Final Fantasy X, purely because it's probably my favourite and most memorable.
