When I say Final Fantasy, who comes to mind?

The first thing that comes too mind right now?

Ever since the Nineties when it was hip to be Square, I've never been able to stop myself from unconsciously mentally referring to characters in newer Final Fantasies as the character from FFVII of which they most strongly remind me. This does NOT happen to me when I play older Final Fantasies, like IV, V, and VI. I don't know what's to be made of that, since IV was the only one I played before VII.
So I guess I would have to say I most strongly think of VII when I think of FF, even while playing a different Final Fantasy.
It's actually caught me off guard a few times, and I catch myself equating a character with a character form FFVII with whom I almost certainly wouldn't equate them if I had been thinking about it consciously.

Sora, because if I hadn't played kingdom hearts I wouldn't have bought FFXII and if I hadn't played FFXII I wouldn't have bought FFX and if I hadn't played FFX I wouldn't have bought FFX-2, FFIII and FFXIII

I'm not one his more rabid fans, but I'm still a fan and I enjoy his video reviews of the Final Fantasy series. Still waiting on him to post part 2 of his Final Fantasy X review. For some reason right now Terra and Cecil.I love both game's casts but both of these characters have struck a chord with me.Terra for her simple goal of finding something to care about,and Cecil because I liked his quest for redemption.

Even though he's technically not an actual FF character, its always gonna be Bahamut for me, most notably his FFIX(9) version since thats one of the greatest and most powerful looking dragons i've ever seen, when ever i think of a dragon he's always the first one that i imagine in my head.
The entire cast of FFIV, particularly Cecil, Rydia, Kain, and Golbez. Then FF6 (Locke springs to mind, what with deconstructing the whole Damsel saving trope, or Shadow, with his surprising complex and emotional backstory), then FF7, because, while it's not better than 4 and 6, it's still not overrated.
In my mind, the cast to FFXIII is Cloud, Sabin, Yuffie, and a smaller, whinier Tidus (think about that for a moment). And Sazh. The best person in the entire game.
