Where and When should the next Fallout be set?

I think they should do a Canadian City next. Toronto, or even Winnipeg after we get that new airport...

Set in Wales. Picture it now, mutant sheep and dragons in destroyed valleys with insane gun-wielding farmers with thick accents telling you to get off their property. And chavs. Hundreds upon hundreds of deformed hoodie wearing children.

I don't think they'll ever move it out of the US. It's kind of integral to the flavor of the setting that everything be idealized retro-future and when Americans in the '50s were imagining the "World of Tomorrow," they were basically only imagining the US. Moving to another country would bring up questions like: Does their setting follow that country's view of world of tomorrow, or do they simply mimic the American vision? There is no real right answer here. Saying it follows theirs tampers with the setting that people love from the previous games, saying they mimic the American setting will just upset people who know better.
Anyway, for an actual guess, I think they'll use Texas next. Think about it, it's American so they don't have to explain why the American vision is being used, but it's the land of cowboys, big oil, huge Brahman herds owned by "Brahman Barons" and so on. It's a wild west setting just waiting to happen. Plus there are big cities like Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio for them to use, so you still have wrecked modern cities to explore. I can just imagine having some sort of mission where you're having to defend the Alamo from Super Mutants or something...

As much as I hate it, the game is firmly rooted in America. Back then for the first one, nothing could challenge America in terms of setting, it really did seem the most powerful country. Besides, no where else could the feeling of the fifties be replicated. It just didn't happen. Although to be fair, it doesn't seem too hard to expand. Only a vague amount of details are provied about other countries, and it wouldn't be too hard to branch out, and make up something else. It would just seem implausable with the belief that America in Fallout was the most powerful country which had the only acess to things like power armor.
Honestly it doesn't matter. It'll never happen unless a very stupid company like EA get the brand, and it'll be bleeding the cash cow dry at that point.

I suppose setting it in a different country would spoil the fallout feel and they would be just as well creating a different game entirely, if they were to move the setting to another country.Lord_Beric said:

I would like to see Fallout take place somewhere outside of America, like England or Russia. It would be cool to see the series move outside of the USA for a change

Before the nuclear apocalypse. In Iraq. And it should be 3 hours long. With over 17 near-death-experiences that give you talent points to upgrade your character.

Someplace out of the US like Africa might be interesting, then again it'd loose all those "Oh man I recognize that building!" moments in the game so it's probably gonna be some place big. How about Paris?

I doubt Fallout will ever move from America, and really I don't think I'd ever want it to.
It just wouldn't have the same feel were it set anywhere else.
As for where in America I'd like the next game to be set? In and around New York city, I think that would be a great setting, be cool to see what the statue of liberty looks like in the Fallout universe too.
