I agree about NWN2 controls, I hate them too. But the story is much better, it kept me all thorough, while hlaf hour in NWN1 I was asleep just wanting to see the end that never arrived and it was all just a click feast. Maybe using a melee PC, monk, was not the best idea.
Anyway... the one that frustrated me most?.
NBA Live 2005. Because it's cheating!.
Up to hard (second hardest) it's way too easy, I win by more than 50 points, I got a record of 205-68. That's boooooooooooring.
So I go to Superhuman apart from our teammates not helping in defense, we find:
- If I'm having an easy game and go 10+ up before tenth minute, then anything I do to defend is a 2+1. Oh, riiiiiight, everytime I hit steal ball the player was just starting to jump, and yeeees, even if my Shaq is falling on his Paul like a sledgehammer the ball ends in. Suuuuuure! And if he fails the FT the rebound is for the attacker always, because we know defenders have the hardest to take rebounds.
- If we reach last 5 minutes ahead, the next happen:
· Keys to dribble around the enemy becomes "grab the ball with both hands and run like hell to back court ignoring all the player's desperate push of button to pash the ball or move other way".
· If player has tip of finger over a line it's a back court or a throwin. But if the AI has all the body and the ball gone the other side but keep the finger tip over the line, it's okay. One would be tempted to say "wrong graphic mapping", were it not because it happens always in favour of AI and independent on the side of each.
· You had your center in full superiority getting all times that play on target?. Could he always shove his defender?. Well, even if he's just rested and your foe is all tired, the other man is now a rock and after that 25/25 becomes not a 0/2 for a 25/27 but a 0/15 for a final 25/40.
· Ooooh, but that's not all. Shaquile O'Neal is unable to shove even the rival's point guard, but the rival point guard, even the one with 5'1'' will set Shaq flying away with just a small touch.
· You know how when releasing button when the hand was like that made it a gone in throw?. Now that point doesn't exist, but if you see it in a throw and release button in right moment, it will still not go in.
· Ah, if AI misses a FT, rebound is for them.
· When you get some 3Ps (not all, but it can be identified which), the AI won't follow trying returning, it will return, to the point if you see AI jumping for a 2P you know it will be a miss and rebound for them to get the 3P.
· FTs for you are done with two bars that move and have to be stopped within a central lighted spot. In these minutes when you shoot the first FT, it will change the time of delay between button hit and bar stop from what is the known time for the player throwing it, so you'll miss. For the second you have two options: you adapt, then it'll return to original right timing, making you miss; or you keep with the original, then it will keep the modified timing, so you'll miss again.
· If you're 1 or 2 points down, AI has the ball, it's less than 12 seconds to go, the player with the ball is a good FTer and click "make intentional foul" order, you'll see your players immediately running to slap him. However if the ball has gone to AI team's worst FTer and you issue the order you'll see your players backing before him, hands up in "I'm not touching him! attitude and doing their best to avoid the slightest contact, avoiding making a foul", when that player makes the pass to their best FTer, you'll see those two players running to him, not like rugby players, but like rage blinded berserker bulls to throw themselves at him to makes sure it's a ball, and they won't stop no matter what you try to annul the order, your only hope is that they'll get so hard on him the best FTer will be injureded and perhaps his replacement isn't good (hard), but that's not happening.
So, NBA Live 2005 and rest of franchise... go to hell!.
