Fragile. Without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time. As a game goes, it's above average, though not stellar by any means, but its unique, the story is incredible, and the art style is some of the best i've seen on a wii game.

The only complaint i have, apart from there being far less memory items than there really should have been, is when crow died. WHY DID HE DIE? I MEAN I GET THE MESSAGE IT SENDS BUT I LIKED HIM! I actually had a hard time finishing the game after that. It doesn't help that you start having to fight crow dolls, with his voice, right after he dies. The intro theme song, Hikari, was a great one to listen to, but without a doubt, the ending theme, Tsuki no Nukumori is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. This game is worth every penny spent on it, in my opinion. But that's just me.

This is also the closest thing i've ever been able to play to a horror game without throwing my controller skyward and screaming every 5 minutes. Though i came pretty close the first time i encountered the eye-woman ghost, mostly because i had mistaken it for the kid-leg ghost, because the crying sounded somewhat like the laughter the legs give off, or at least it did at the time(being night when i should have been in bed).
thanks for ruining the plot jackass

Actually, after the first time you meet and befriend him, crow has almost nothing to do with the plot. If his death seriously affected the plot, i would have spoilered it.

heavy rain, silent hill 2. something we must remember is that art IS subjective, and a game that could be considered art doesn't need to be a "good" game in the traditional sense.

Shadow of the Colossus.

You can take basically any screenshot and call it a work of art; the art direction is among the best I've ever seen in a videogame. More to the point, like 2001: A Space Odyssey, it tells a fantastic story in a very minimalist style that really makes the most of the fact that videogames are a visual medium. It's also the only game to have made me cry.
A screenshot like that belongs in an art gallery.

I think Half Life 2 could be considered art because it makes you feel like the characters are real and it makes you feel like your in the conversation without you talking.

I'd say all of them are art. Just many of them aren't good art. All of them combine elements of story, animation, and characterization which are combined in such a way as to be art, just not necessarily good art.

Okami is an obvious example. Everything about it is achingly beautiful, from the watercolour style graphics to the emotive soundtrack and the spectacular area rejuvination scenes.

Lord of the Rings Online.

It's simply just beautiful when the graphics are up all the way.

Grand Theft Auto. I'm pretty sure there were controversies over drawings of naked ladies, which is considered art, and this one is a fresh new take on Video Games, and had controversies too :D

Morrowind. Amazing atmosphere, environments, writing and music. Truely immersive, and without doubt a work of art and labour of love.

Irellevent. most non-gamers will never see any game as a form of art. do you know why? because any form of art is subjective, and that means that what one person sees as art another could see as complete crap.

Super Mario Galaxy.
What? No different or overtly artsy?
Well, as a game, it's fantastic.
A blend of creativity and fun.
Everything a game should be.
You wouldn't judge film by it's gameplay right?
