Iron man. Why? He's rich, powerful, influential, and doesn't have superpowers, relying on his own intelligence and ability to accomplish his goal. He's a normal person competing with genetically altered super soldiers, irradiated beings, and physical gods.

Basically, he's Marvel's version of Batman

Havent seen the film yet, but Iron Man was always my favourite superhero, and based on the Iron Man films and the Capt America film, I doubt that will change for this film (Havnt seen the newer Hulk or Thor films yet)

Assuming I'm only allowed to pick from the film (because there are about a million to choose from in the comics) then Thor, with Iron Man a close second. I love the way Thor speaks and I love the fact that, screw justifying random humans with superpowers, he's an actual GOD (sort of). Plus, since OP brought up Scarlett Johansson: Chris. Hemsworth. Yes please!

Iron Man is second because he's hilarious and a total douche but everyone loves him anyway. I guess a lot of us wish we could have his attitude in real life (and get away with it). Also, he's basically Batman without the angst and moping.

My favourite piece of eye candy character in that movie was Loki though. I really can't put my finger on exactly why, but he is just so damn sexy.

Seriously he's a great character and sorta the ideal person imo
I loved this little speach he did. Awesome character.

However, if we are going film, if it came down to a Civil War I would be going for Iron Man simply because RDJr owns the part and is by far the funniest on screen.

For me either Thor, I am a Scandinavian so I'll rost ina few sec if I don't put his name here or Hawkeye. Hawkeye because I know so little about him but he is "just a normal" human with a hell of a bowskill.

Agreed, brother. As the song goes: "America, fuck yeah."

Edit: Fun fact, I'm not even American, I'm Brazilian.

I can't help but wonder why the hell Black Widow and Hawkeye are even there. Wooh, she knows kung fu, and he can shoot a bow.
Wait what?
Did you watch the movie?
They said straight out that Black Widow is a spy and not meant for battle, if you read some war history you might notice that information is 70% win ina war.
As for Hawkeye, he won't be getting his own movie because I don't think he's interesting enough. I myself enjoy him a lot (look my post above) because he is a "normal human" with one hell of a bow skill. Don't tell me a normal dude can count out the wind like he did when aiming for the aircraft or using one of his, can't remember, but think it was 96 different arrows he has used during the comics.
Not to rage, everyone has their own opinion, but saying they shouldn't be there... that's just wrong. Without hawkeyes arrow at Loki, Hulk wouldn't for exmaple have gotten the chance to beat him up in Stark Tower.

Speaking only for the film: Thor simply because of the badass entrance.

Also of note: I've still not seen the Thor movie.

Iron Man or Hulk.

Iron Man for his mocking of nearly everybody, the high-tech suit, the fact that he's Tony Stark and not being as selfish as he makes out.

Hulk for the fact that he's Bruce Banner's inner torment, and the line by Bruce really made me feel for the guy -

'I was low...I put a bullet in my mouth and the big guy spat it back out.' He has to live with this pent-up rage for the rest of his life, with no way out. He has to learn to deal with it or keep it in, which just goes to show how strong a person Bruce Banner is.

Plus his and Tony's little bromance was so funny.

My personal favorite of the movies? Iron Man. I haven't seen The Avengers yet since it's not out in the US right now, but I've seen each of the characters respective movies, and Iron Man was my favorite.

Black Widow is pretty nice too. For obvious reasons.

In the comics, Hank Pym's the man. He's my absolute favourite Marvel character (followed closely by Daredevil). He's an awesome scientist, who barely gets the respect he deserves from his peers, due to his mistakes (of which he's made many). It makes him more human. He's a flawed person. Recently he went toe to toe with Reed Richards and won.

And Daredevil has some of the best stories told by Marvel in his comics. Been on a big Daredevil binge recently. Bendis' run was fucking mind-blowing.

In the films, Hulk stole the show for me. He was amazing. I won't say more, spoilers and what not, but so awesome.

Of the ones featured in the movie, definitely Captain America.

Of all the comic avengers, Captain is still up there, but with fierce competition from She Hulk, Spiderman, Luke Cage, Scarlet Witch, and Spiderwoman

Are we talking favorite or who is the actual BEST as in most powerful?

Most powerful is Thor. Hulk is strong but not quite as powerful as Thor.

My actual favorite is Iron Man though.
I'm not really a comic guy so I could be wrong, but isn't it so that Hulks strength basically is only limited by his rage? As far as I know, there are no known boundaries to his strength. So, while Thor can summon Lightning and also fly next to being pretty strong, Hulk seems pretty indestructable, which, as far as I know, doesn't go for Thor aswell, so wouldn't that make Hulk more powerful by default? I mean, sure, Thor can whoop him, but that would just piss him off more and more until he can eventually just crush him like it ain't even a thing.

I atleast figure that with the Movie Roster the power hierachy would pretty much be

Captain America < Iron Man < Thor < Hulk

Especially considering that Iron Man held his own pretty damn well versus Thor.

_____________

I'm going to go with Iron Man for the Movie, less because of Iron Man and more because of Tony Stark as a whole. I however was surprised, they actually managed to get me to enjoy Hulk scenes...which nobody had managed thus far. The entire Movie, while not perfect, is fucking awesome and I seriously hate the fact that it's going to be years and years until we get a sequel.
It depends. Thor was able to basically fight to a stalemate against both Hulk (under Loki's control) and Loki in the comics. Considering he was able to fight both of them I'd say he his more powerful than the either one by themselves. The movie kind of weakened Thor's abilities a bit because he would've been too strong for there to be any real threat from the villains.

However, in the fight between Thor and Hulk + Loki, Thor makes the mistake of getting rid of Loki's control, Banner's personality had been removed from him at the time so without any bit of humanity or control, Hulk turned into pure rage and almost kills Thor.

So it really depends. When Hulk is in true rage form, there is nothing that can stop him (I think, not too sure though) but if he is under control either through other means or through Bruce Banner, then Thor is more powerful.

Of course even then, I believe there are some instances in the comics of Thor being powerful enough to spin his hammer and just open up a portal to another dimension and deposit Hulk there. He is a god after all.

Captain America all fucking day. Good soldier, better fighter, amazing leader.

"There's only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that"
