Who is going to replace Jim Fucking Sterling-san?

The Escapist is still reeling from the loss of Jim Fucking Sterling-san, and there are many questions as to why he left.

Yet, this raises a larger question. Though they still have heavy hitters like Yahtzee senpai and, to some degree, bob, there is now a sizable hole in their website. It stands to reason that they will need to hire new help, or find other ways to bolster their site content. How do you think the website will go about doing this, and in what ways do you think the culture may change?

Well, I can think of one person who is perfect for the job. Not as "replacement for Jim Fucking Sterling son" but rather "A person who I think more people should listen to" - that person is MrBTongue from YouTube. Why? Because he talks sensibly, understandably, smartly and really likes video games and wants them to improve by following both good ideas from gaming itself but also compatible ones from other mediums. I also think it'd be good if he was motivated to make more videos, as his ones are brilliant but not that many. Finally, with Jim gone, there is a Monday slot that's just perfect for MrBtongue[footnote]The joke here is that his videos were often late and he'd often promise them for "Monday" until it sort of became a joke on its own.[/footnote]

I need more Cartoons here. I came to this site for Unforgotten Realms, and since then the Cartoons on this site went up slightly, and then shrank dramatically until only Yatzee remains (And even he isn't truely a Cartoonist, nor is his series really a cartoon).

I want a New Cartoon on this site!

Mr. Weidman seems to have a good head on his shoulders, and his videos are both entertaining and informative. Probably not going to happen though, as he has his hands full with other obligations.

Replace him as what? Head reviewer? Twitch player? Defender of bad movies? Yahtzee nemesis? Host of his own show? Jim was many things.

Judging by the leaning of the guys upstairs, probably someone like "InternetAristocrat" or that nonsense.

As a direct replacement, I would've said Kyle Bosman, but I don't know if GameTrailers or The Escapist is seen as the higher-valued gaming website under Defy.

As for other content, something different like Hot Pepper Gaming would be nice, but I don't know if they're already owned by a YouTube network (Maker, if I'd have to guess one, considering most of the guests that are on)

Besides that though, pretty much everything else gaming related I watch is either vastly outgrown any worth The Escapist might have in all likelihood, or their content (and their schedule) wouldn't work at all. (Let's Players, for example)

If I were stupid, I'd say Angry Joe. I think the actual response of me would be something along the lines of "Well, if Joe had a consistent work schedule and didn't do XYZ when he felt like it, he'd be perfect for the site", but then, adding onto the fact he seems pretty stable being only on YouTube and TGWTG, I'm guessing it'll be impossible to get him. Also guessing for monetary reasons too.

Who else...who else...seriously, this is hard. Everyone I know seems to be either a popular YT LPer, working on another site, or too nonprofessional/inconsistent in work/obscure to get on here. I don't think it's unheard of to get someone from the countdown community or Normal Boots to come on, but I can't point to anybody in that line up and say "you're perfect for this site".

I'll be sure to pop in and out of this thread to repeatably check what others say.

I imagine they'll try to fill it with another Youtube celeb, kind of like how they added Game Theory. I think thats subpar, but what happens happens.

Is Game Theory a routine part of the Escapist now? I thought it was part of the EXP program.

As opposed to the official news post which is going on 250 strong now.

Yahtzee's own channel on Youtube doesn't get much traffic either, doesn't mean he isn't a huge draw for this site.
