Onizuka from GTO i mean he's fallen off the same building at least 5 times, beaten 100 hardcore people in a row at arm wrestling and rescues a girl from an armed gang of thugs unarmed. plus hes a school teacher.

Rushuna Tendo, is the female Vash as far as Anime gunslinger Heros go. I don't think many people have seen Grenadier though

No she fully fits the "Goodguy" Category by the end, but that's Nausicaa for you, there are no real villains in that story, everyone is redeemable, relatable and sympathetic.
There's no indication that she's much reformed by the end, just that she's politically pragmatic enough to know that Nausicaa weilds a vast amount of political influence, and that continued war is not good for her nation.

That's the other thing about Nausicaa. There are very few outright "good guys" either.
Are you sure? I got the impression that she had become less ambitious and more compasionate through her dealings with Nausicaa. I figured that was the point of the story, that Nausicaa's compassion was spreading through the people she met and slowly transforming the world into a better place.

Anyone who does not answer either Kenshin (Ova Kenshin that is. Not the twat TV version) L or Gutts obviously has not seen the right types of anime.
Although Nagumo gets a special vote for obvious reasons. <.<

*Edit* Actually fuck that. Mad Bull wins. Watch MadBull 34 and you will see.
Everyones seen Kenshin, over rated. I never watched Beserker and i don't like Deathnote.
Besides
L dies.

I'd have to say a toss up between Luffy from One Piece and Goku from Dragonball. I like heroes that have genuinely good hearts, and don't really have their own tortured past. I know that both of these guys are similar in character, but that just says that I like them. Even though neither of them are my favorite characters in their series (fav OP: Zoro, fav DB: Vegeta), Luffy and Goku are the true heroes that save the day and people love them for it.

It's worth noting that all along she had compassion and concern for her own troops. By the end of the series, with her father and brothers out of the picture, and the Dorok empire in disarray, and both empires battered by war she's simply prioritised towards rebuilding her own country. She wasn't so much "ambitious" to start with, but she was hard, pragmatic, and ruthless because that's what she needed to be to survive. She still had those qualities at the end, but no enemies.

Gutts is a good character, but that series/manga is soooo much nightmare fuel.
Just remember that the subtitle is "Kentaro Miura's rape fantasy" and you'll not be surprised or shocked any more.

I just don't understand why Anpanman isn't getting any love. He lets people eat his head.

His head is a Japanese beancake, an anpan. His baker bakes him a new head. He also has friends named shokoupanman(white bread man) and the baker Jam Ojisan(Jam Grandpapa)

He's also been around for 40 years.

Clearly the greatest anime hero of all time.

Light Yagami from death note. He is so creative on the kind of stuff he can come up with to get himslf out of a jam.

Dante. He has Smokin' Sick Style. And yes, he does count, because there's a Devil May Cry anime.
Agreed. Not many other people can look that cool while decimating hoards of ravenous demons.

Black Star from Soul Eater is pretty damn funny as well, making him a close second.

Your all crazy, Mega Man is by far the greatest anime hero ever, not only does he save the world countless time from rogue robots, but he Rips off the good parts from them, and uses them to his advantage to beat down other opponents.

[HEADING=1]Black Howling[/HEADING]

I don't expect many people to know who Black Howling is, but when you consider he's young, an expert martials artist in the use of Shadow Skill and fought in a battle called the Lightning War, which was a few thousand soldiers versus him alone and won decisively, you kind of get his epicness.

"I don't have a nickname yet.
But I have the greatest respect for both the men I have defeated
and those I am about to defeat.
So I'll make one right now.
My name is Black Howling."

Amuro Ray deserves an honorable mention. He had his whiny moments in the original Gundam, but he did become one of the most powerful Newtypes ever. And by CCA he was much more professional and he could manhandle 2 cyber-Newtypes simultaneously without breaking a sweat.
