how about levi from black lagoon i think shes awesome (but i cant realy say she is a hero as she is mostly a murdering machine but she is the most awesome character in any anime).

for a hero id choose the main character from hunter x hunter but i don't know his name anymore.

I believe it is Revy and she is awesome.

Except one could say that Revi isn't remotely a hero, she's basically a psychopathic villain. She's a protagonist sure, but definately not a hero.

Wow, that's pretty close to my initial thoughts... but I have to go with Gutz because in all honesty he's pretty much undefeatable.

Hunter X Hunter's main character is Gon Freaks.

Not, however, a hero. More of a noble villain.

No she fully fits the "Goodguy" Category by the end, but that's Nausicaa for you, there are no real villains in that story, everyone is redeemable, relatable and sympathetic.

No she fully fits the "Goodguy" Category by the end, but that's Nausicaa for you, there are no real villains in that story, everyone is redeemable, relatable and sympathetic.

There's no indication that she's much reformed by the end, just that she's politically pragmatic enough to know that Nausicaa weilds a vast amount of political influence, and that continued war is not good for her nation.

That's the other thing about Nausicaa. There are very few outright "good guys" either.
