Dumb game that only a 13 yr old would find fun and amusing. It will be just a normal run and gun game like the original which bored me. But then maybe i am alot older and just grew out of games like that? But if people enjoy it then i have no issue with that. But the amount of hype for it is ridiculous and will never live up to it. How many people who will buy it were even around to buy the last game over 13 years ago?
I am fifteen and mature for my age (when I want to be or when I need to be) and I never played duke nukem, doom or serious sam when they first came out but I got them all on xbox live arcade because they are what I want to see more of GAMES THAT ARE JUST MEANT TO BE FUN. I'm not expecting some glorious game that will change the shape if the gaming landscape I am expecting a game that is going to be pure fun and also a challenge because most games that are pure fun aren't a challenge and you get bored of them for not taking any or your mind to play them. I will also get it when it comes out because gamers basically vote for what they want by buying games so if duke nukem forever is a huge success maybe game developers will think that making a game that isn't meant to be realistic is what people want (or they will think that we want more blood and tits which I hope they don't think). also I found borderlands to be pure gold when it comes to run gunning fps games so I think that duke nukem will be at least a good game not it was worth waiting 13 years for but it was worth £40 (or $60).

Nah, probably not. Maybe I'll give it a rent.
I suppose I could end up buying it if it some how gets flawless reviews and even higher praise from fellow gamers, other than that, I'm in no rush to play it.

Right now Duke Nukem Forever seems a sparkle of fun around the blandness of "realistic" shooters, so I will at least grab a demo

I'm probably not going to buy it....and if I do it'll have to be super cheap, I prefered the side scrolling Duke games of yore.

I'm gonna get it... after so many modern warfare games and "OMG LOOK AT HOW SHINY MY ARMOUR IS!" games... It's nice to have one that is just a insane and over the top shooter. Makes me miss Timesplitters too...

Plus as a fan of Borderlands, I think Gearbox will provide something worth the wait. It may not be amazingly superior to all the other millions of FPS and won't make us go "OMG BEST GAME EVAH!" but I'm sure a good few people will have a laugh with it and enjoy it.

On a side note, atleast it proves there is hope for games to actually come out that we have been waiting years for... I'm looking at you Valve!

I figure the odds of me picking up this game are about 95%. Only if the reviews are brutal. Not the "this isn't worth a 12 year wait" variety, which I expect the game will garner. It's going to be a throw-back shooter and a lot of reviewers are going to be upset that it isn't Bioshock and such reviewers are not to be listened to.

No, the "this is just such a horribly mediocre game" variety. I fully expect the game to be a competent shooter, but if there aren't a decent number of reviewers cackling in glee at the madness on display, then I know to pass it by.

But I get the feeling, it's going to turn it up to 11 with some seriously OTT antics... and I think such games should always be encouraged.

I have many other FPS' that I'm looking forward to more than this one. If I get through those and Duke gets good reviews, then MAYBE. But they've dug themselves a hole by fucking over their fanbase for 12 years, so they get no respect from me(well, Gearbox does).

I'll probably buy it for two reasons:

1: It's Duke Nukem Forever, seriously, this is one of the biggest games that they said would never be released. I'll be buying it just so I can laugh when I read the VGCats strip or watch ZP etc

2. I hate 'realistic' cover based military shooters. I find them boring and annoying and tedious to get through. Like Yahtzee I long for the games that allow you to charge right into the midst of enemy fire with a hugely over-compensatory gun that shoots firebolts, and there just aren't enough of those anymore.

I think if I hear the debate of "Duke Nukem MIGHT actually come out this time" one more time I'm going to hunt down Stallone and go Rambo on someone's ass. It's got a demo and a release date is coming out. It's happening, please stop arguing.
I know -_-

For some reason people still think it's cool and funny and original to make jokes about whether or not Duke will mnake it out this time. It was funny until about a week after it was revealed. I'd let it pass if say, 3D Realms were still developing it, because at least then it would be relevant, and likely possible.

But there is no basis whatsoever to think that DNF won't come out. I too will go Rambo on the next person's ass who makes a 'joke' along those lines...

I never played duke nukem. I saw a friend playing it once and I did get to see a blocky stripper flap about and was kind of aroused but I've no real interest! Perhaps my opinion will change if there's a good trailer or multiplayer but atm I'm mostly uninterested, mostly!
