It's funny you brought that one up, that was the only boss I found really challenging in MP2, it's also one of my favourites.robert632 said:Boost guardian in Metriod Prime 2. I really don't think anyone play tested that boss, as it's broken in so many ways. That, or it was supposed to be mind numbingly difficult.
Let's be honest though, most anti armor engagements in BF2 (vanilla) are well under 50m (well there are the non-city maps where armor engagements are over 50m, but I have yet to find a server who actually uses those maps). So using realistic arming distances would make the anti-tank class a bit useless..... Actually with all the infantry only servers, anti-tank already IS useless.Suki the Cat said:Not giving the AT weapons and grenade launchers correct arming distances in videogames...
The most commonly used 40mm grenades has an arming distance of 14-28 meters instead of the less common 2-3 meters of the M381 and M441 grenades. The reason the 2-3 meter arming distance is not used is because its so unsafe! And having 40mm's in videogames with 14 meter arming distance (at least) would make players use the GL the way it was ment, and not as a shotgun of sorts... (well, not to enter a building, you have that assault rifle on top of your GL for a reason, not just to look good!)
The AT4 has an arming distance of 10 meters. Meaning shooting the weapon in the ground right infront of you shouldn't kill you OR the person trying to knife/shotgun you! It's so stupid!
Now, the ERYX missile (which is the one used in BF2) has an arming distance of 50 meters... 50 meters! It's fucking retarded... Why can't games at least take a few simple steps to cut down on the use of AT weapons and GLs in CQB... It doesn't take much.
Now, the standard 5.56 round used in rifles such as the M4 and M16 easily penetrate kevlar... Wait, I was talking about arming distances... Well, enough then. I think you get what I mean.
I died due to a grenade to the face once, hit me on the head when I had like one health left, two seconds later while I'm looking up at the sky and calling for a medic it explodes. I was surprised the engine of BF2 could actually pull stuff like that off.Funkysandwich said:It would be great if the arming distance was more realistic, that would also mean you could shoot people in the head with unarmed grenades and rockets. Am I the only one who can see how amusing that could be?

I spent 20 fucking minutes waiting for GFWL to update INGAME. It wouldn't let me play the game, oh god no, and it sure wouldn't let me close the game either. What the hell kind of stupid idea is that?
That and Ubisoft's DRM software. Which is why I'm thinking of purchasing assassin's Creed 2 from Steam, then pirating it from somewhere else.

Gotta agree, DRM is the dumbest idea in history. If I get AC2 it'll be on the PS3 (no DRM there)Pielikey said:*SNIP*

I agree with this. Most definatly for FF8. Such a great card game gone to waste.Onyx Oblivion said:NOT releasing FF8 and FF9's card games are full fledged games. I'd have bought them both in a heartbeat.
I've always seen it as a way to try make the game more traditionally realistic. Copying from DnD and you shouldn't be allowed carry around 800 suits of armour with you. I've always seen the space they give you as some kind of cart that you leave at the start of the zone. Though it can be wierd when you have about 8 pages of inventory.blalien said:Every RPG should have a bottomless inventory and more sorting options than MS Excel. He's worse than most of the Tekken Bosses - but easier than Jinpachi! Remember that move, which was almost instantaneous, where lightning comes out of his hand and you're stunned for about 5 seconds? It even brought you to the floor if you were Devil Jin and in the middle of a flying move. Don't even get me started on his minor teleport move and ranged unblockable (which could be combined). Oh yeah - and if he wasn't quite happy with his first fireball, he could instantly do it again. Grrr!The_Blue_Rider said:Im pretty sure we've all felt this at one point or another, that point where we put the controller down and just say to ourselves "Who the hell thought that was a good idea!?"
My most recent one would have to be Tekken 6, I love that game, the fighting is some of the best I have ever seen, but there is one problem, that problem is called Azazel.
Who the fuck thought Azazel was a good idea?! Who looked at the production of this game and said to themselves
"Lets see this guy can deal crazy amounts of damage, doesn't take as much damage, is faster than he should be, and can ignore most of the players attacks. People will love him!"
Anyway my ranting aside escapists, please share your stories of frustration with idiotic game ideas
The card games were amazing - same goes for Blitzball. They should release a collection of mini-games on one disc - there are so many FF fans that it would definitely sell =)Jesus Phish said:I agree with this. Most definatly for FF8. I always thourhgt they should've released Blitzball as a table top game, similar to Games Workshops Blood Bowl.Joshdemon said:The card games were amazing - same goes for Blitzball. They should release a collection of mini-games on one disc - there are so many FF fans that it would definitely sell =)
