Well, for a really different take on the character (less insane, and instead more cold, detached, and with a touch of elitist condescension), I would say Stephen Fry.

If anyone can sell me the idea of a villain whose voice could form an excellent counter point to Christian Bale's "Slayer voice" when doing Batman, it's Fry.
Now I want to see that.

My vote goes to Patrick Stewart. I mean...It's Patrick Stewart!
Fuck yes!

Either that or Sid Haig just for kicks.

I would cast Ben Affleck as the Riddler, because Ben Affleck is awesome.

I would have preferred a different villian, the Riddler is far too similar to the Joker, but I can't really see anyone more suitable for the role than Johnny Depp.

If it were up to me, the next Batman Villian would be Zsasz, played by Edward Norton.

Use a villain like the Puppeteer or Harley Quinn or Zsasz. There's so many great Batman Villains out there that fit the realist movie universe. Riddler is not one of them.

But, if I had to cast someone probably David Tennant, John Simms or Johnny Depp.

Really?

If you think the Riddler is like the Joker you are a pretty shitty Batman fan. Or only basing your character concepts off of the old television show (where everyone was an over the top party clown in a slightly different outfit).

Or you have presented a riddle in your post and expected people to catch it. If so I've failed miserably.

I've never really considered the Riddler a villain in the first place, he's more of a nuetral character. Sort of like Catwoman. Yes I realize she robs and that technically makes her a villain and she has worked with other really fucked up villains in the past. But both her and the riddler have saved Batman's life on more than ten occasions.

I beg to differ. He's like Saw's Jigsaw, only less gory, and with a better sense of humour.

Anyway, I was going for David Tennant at first, then doubted because I wasn't sure he was evil enough, then I saw Waters of Mars, and I'm quite convinced now.

In the end though, Johnny Depp takes the cake for me, a bit above Tennant.

Then we should just go all the way and cast David Attenborough. You'd never feel more at ease while you're being murdered, even more than with Morgan Freeman.

For the Riddler I'd like to see Johnny Depp (but I also wanted to see him as the Joker so yeah). I could also see David Tennant in the role. Or Hugh Laurie

I think Stephen Fry would be a better Penguin than Riddler but that's just me.

The guy who is playing Dr. Who right now could do a very good Riddler in my opinion. I would rather see Mr. Freeze, Black Mask, or especially Hush in the next movie though. Probably one of the last two since Nolan is a pansy and won't abandon realism.

Oh hell yes.
You've quoted me twice in 2 minutes, are you stalking me? :p
Well if you stopped writing things I agree with or things I absolutely disagree with then I'd stop quoting you!

Or stick to the Forum Games+RP/Featured Content sections, I don't venture there :p

Johnny Depp would be my foremost choice. He definitely has the eccentricity needed to pull him off, though I'm not quite sure if he could blend it with the element of realism the first two movies had.

And anyways, it's not that the Riddler is better or worse than the Joker - the two characters are apples and oranges. The Joker tends to be there to test Batman's will while the Riddler's there to test his intellect.

Ra's al Ghul can kind of play both fields, so I'd also like to see him return at some point. (He's probably my favorite villain from the comics.) Plus, his "The Reason You Suck" speech in Batman Begins was just epic.

Getting back on topic, though, probably Depp as the Riddler - and there's a LOT of potential for him as a character there. I don't think the films have fully realized Batman being a detective. And having the Riddler there would probably be as good a chance for that as there's ever gonna be.

I'm a pretty eccentric & weird guy already... I'm known by the name "The Mad Hatter," and that's only 20% because of my hat.
...whats the other 80%?
