Hugh Laurie.

I normally don't have a very good sense for what actors would be good in what role. But House as Riddler would be...amazing.
I sure hope I don't have to be the first to inform you of this, but Hugh Laurie's been in a fair few other things before House.
...A fact I was aware of which makes what I said no less true.
It's always good to check; some people seem to think that before they discovered x actor, they didn't have a career.

I've heard someone say Ian McKellen had never acted before X-men in 2000. =_=

David Tennant should be the next Riddler, they look too much alike.

Johnny Depp or David Tennant. Tennant has proved with roles such as Barty Crouch Jr. that he can pull off the psycho aspect pretty well, and he can be a pretty funny guy as well as a serious actor. Depp fits all this even more, especially when you look at roles such as Sweeney Todd, Jack Sparrow, and for eccentricity, Ichabod Crane...

Does the Riddler have to be faux-English? If he does then Tennant can do it (he's Scottish, the Dr Who accent is put on, for those not in the know)

If he doesn't then I say Robert Downey Jr would do pretty well, I really liked what he did with Tony Stark in Iron Man, the "I'm so rich I can do who and what I want" jackass, and I think he could put on a pretty damn chilling Riddler, mostly deathly serious with some extremely well delivered wit in there too.

Actually, I'm all over this. DT or RDJ would be the best choices.

How about...

Adam Sandler...

or Samuel L. Jackson...:D
I would love to see Samuel L. Jackson as the Riddler.

"Batman descends from high up on a building. On the ground, he spies an emerald green envelope with a glossy, black question mark engraved on it. Batman opens it and pulls out a card that queries, 'Does he look like a *****?'"

Seriously though, I don't know who I would want to see as the Riddler. However, I would like to see the Riddler portrayed as someone who stalks and hunts down the Dark Knight while testing his intellect. Anyone playing the Riddler would also have to remember that the character suffers from obsessive compulsive behavior.

David Tennant, Ewan Mcgregor or Edward Norton.

And he should ONLY be played as a serious character, not what we saw in Batman Forever.
You kidding? Hes got to have a sense of humor, thats one of the characters key traits. You can't have a serious crazy guy.

We should have David Mitchell... If he lost weight...

But that would make it a bit too comedic though... Maybe for a spoof.

Then how about what everyone else says, Johnny Depp. Cos it's a shame you won't let me have Jim Carrey.

As has already been stated by many before me, Johnny Depp seems like a good choice. Maybe not the best, but I can't really think of anyone better right now.

Robert Englund, William Peterson, or Keith David.

They can all pull off a character who's intellectual, creative, witty, conniving, and bad-ass.

And they're some of the actors on my list of People Who Will NEVER Make Enough Money.

I still want to see Eddie Murphy.

I will not argue why with anyone, either via PMs or quotes.
Well, I dunno. Alot of his older work was great (Trading Places for example), but alot of his latest stuff looks...well, frankly, awful.

Alot of people are mentioning Johnny Depp, I don't think I've seen him in anything (not seen the Pirates of the Caribbean movies), so can't comment.

So long as Will Ferrell has NOTHING to do with the role (and given his apparent popularity in his 'comedies', I bet someone will suggest it), whoever gets cast will probably be good.

Answer - David Tennant.
But I don't want Christopher Nolan to make anymore Batman Movies. They now run the risk of being too campy and therefor, shite. just leave well enough alone. He had his big throw down with Joker and Two-Face. Any Attempt to redeem Batman in the public eye from the end of Dark Knight will just get either preachy or too unbelievable.

I think Michael C. Hall from dexter, and gamer(the guy who created society) would make a good riddler
