Um, it's not Metal Gear Solid? Though Double Agent was much better than MGS 4.
No, it wasn't. A)Double Agent sucked so bad. B)You can't deny that MGS4 (as well as the other MGS games, I guess) is a good game, or else how are you better than Dingo?

Sony is becoming a lot more competitive really now. Getting some good games on PSN and some good exclusives and getting some timed exclusives. The gap between sales of the two consoles isnt as large as it once was. I think developers are waking up to the potential the system has after some good looking games have come out for it and I think consumers are waking up to all the extra costs involved into making the 360 a decent experience.

Because I actually played and liked Double Agent, and played and hated MGS 4. Unlike him I try what I flame.
Oh, fair enough, although I don't know how that's possible. I liked what little of MGS4 I was able to convince Paladin to let me play on his PS3, but I hated Double Agent, so I was sure you were trying to reverse-flame him. Still, personal tastes being what they are, I suppose it's just possible that you like a game I don't :)

I have a 360 and wish I had a PS3 instead. Screw exclusives, I'm worried about RROD. And paying for online gaming when everyone else gets it for free is ridiculous.

One thing I dont get is that 360 owners brag that they get the extras for Fallout3 yet seem quite content not getting it for FFXIII.

Those that seem interested in FFXIII that is..

Dude Gears of War 2 was released in November of 2008, 6 months ago, same with Fable 2. Not really last year. Besides, do you really judge how good a console is doing based solely on the exclusive titles released for it. There's a bunch of great games for the 360. Just because they're not exclusive doesn't mean it's getting left behind.
This is 2009, that was 2008. It was indeed last year.

That is the case, as the only Splinter Cells I played were Double Agent and Pandora's Box (Pandora the better of the two). I still liked DA, infuriating AI besides. (Or is it just like that for every stealh game?) And MGS 4 could've been good if it weren't for the atrocious amounts of cutscenes. I just kept skipping them cause the story was that idiotic.
/facepalm. You've only played through Double Agent and Pandora Tomorrow? You know that DA is the game SC fans pretend never existed and, before that, it was PT, right? Seriously, play through either the original or Chaos Theory (preferably both, CT is the best, but the original has a more forgiving difficulty curve, better for newbies).

As for MGS, whatever. I've always been a fan of stories and cutscenes, so it didn't faze me so much, but I can see how that would get annoying.

sony is probably paying more?..
Paying who? Sony are making all those games.

Okay, off the top of my head....

inFAMOUS
Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time (if I call it A Crack in Time the joke is lost)
Heavy Rain
Uncharted 2
Wardevil: Unleash the Beast Within
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (its at the point where I hear the words co-op that I really don't think remake justifies it, you know?)
Quantum Theory
Cross Edge
White Knight Chronicles
Demons Soul (hopefully)
Afrika
Katamari Forever
LA Noire
3 Exclusives from Capcom (I know I'm not supposed to just list these unnanounced exclusives, but it is Capcom. Its the best explanation of their report that they're bringing 12 games to the 360 this year, and 15 to the Ps3.)
God of War III
MAG
Gran Turismo 5
Twisted Metal 5 (you're not fooling anyone Jaffe)
Final Fantasy XIII Versus
Ni-Oh
The Agency
DC universe Online
Free Realms
Eyepet
Trinity Universe
Last Rebellion
Yakuza 3 (hopefully)

And last, but certainly not least, Trico.

Hey, you asked.

Note: Near as I can tell, these are the games that are coming out in the west in the before 2011, that are actually still being worked on, and that most people could give a shit about. So, yeah, thats 32 exclusives in 19 months.
I wouldn't call the two MMOS you listed as exclusive, considering their for the PC as well. I am excited for inFAMOUS though, and Afrika

I admit the PS3 does have more exclusives this year, but Alan Wake and Spilnter Cell: Conviction will still keep me interested.
Alan Wake does look genuinely interesting, but it seems to have some odd problems with not knowing what it wants to be (which is kind of a big problem for a game thats supposed to be out this year). The focus on Survival Horror can work very well when grounded in a realistic scenario - the concept of a "Hills have Eyes" situation can work wonders with that, and its a concept that is genuinely new to videogames. The problem is that the ame proclaims to be all about using light. Now, I could accept that for some form of supernatural monsters, but using light to fight people? Seems kind of weird to me.

As for Splinter Cell Conviction, well, that series has spread itself around more than the town bikes Syphillis. I doubt this will be the only game to remain relatively faithful. Even outside of that, Splinter Cell SUCKS!
... Trying to invoke the wrath of orannis I see?
It's okay Dylan, let it go. I've learned to ignore Dingo.
No-one has ever been able to give me a reason why I shouldn't consider Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory the worst game I have ever played in my life. And I've played Goldeneye: Rogue Agent.
Because you never told us what you didn't like about it, other than things which are totally subjective. The worst thing you've been able to tell me is the controls, which really aren't hard to get used to. So, set the record straight: what do you dislike so much about Splinter Cell?
First and foremost, the dialogue. While I am able to withstand a relatively fair amount of conservative political viewpoint, a fully "realist" viewpoint brings up a subject matter based in an uncomfortablyy warped world. And I got an intolerable dose from 3 minutes. Bravo.

Second, what the game lacks. Specifically, visibility. Breaking line of sight or subtle trickery will always be prefferable to simply using shadows, but if darkness is the preffered method, keep it in first person. In the third person, I can't see the fucking character. I know there are Night Vision goggles, but they destroy all sense of depth perception, leaving me to walk into bottomless pits

The level design left me with no clue of what to do, but lacking the open ended nature of Hitman, very little to be able to figure it out with (and who designs a stealth level with bottomless pits?).

I admit it is relatively shallow to give up on a game after a bad first impression, but realistically speaking, I love the stealth genre, and yet this game left a vile taste in my mouth. If it plays badly according to something I know well, then why should I give it further chances? Especially if the previously mentioned don't clear up?
To the first part, yeah, it's uncomfortable propaganda, but that doesn't automatically make a bad game. You just sort of tune it out after a little while. Give it a chance however, and you do get some funny dialogue, especially between Sam and Grimsdottir (the end of one of my favorite exchanges being "Whatever. Crowbars are for geeky video game characters", a clear reference to Half life, which I appreciated)

For the second part, I really don't know what you're talking about. I never really had a problem with depth perception, but maybe that's just me. If it really did give you a hard time, then that's legitimate.

I always thought the levels were fairly straightforward, but whatever. I really don't know what I can say about this one.

I understand, I'd be lying if I said I didn't do the same from time to time. It really does seem to come down to preference though, so maybe we should just leave this here.

sounds like you wanna play some of those games more than you're worried about the 360's lineup. The first Drake's Uncharted really wasn't that interesting though...

Look at it this way. Slow times in the game industry is a time for your wallet to relax and repair itself.
... and if you're really looking to spend money then go to XBLM. ^o^
R-Type, Dishwasher, and Castle Crashers are great!

I guess. I'm not begrudging you your position, but I'd be lieing if I said I could see where you got it from.
And I could say the same about your Sony fervor, so we're even.
