Why are all the good exclusives coming out for the PS3?

The reason why all the good exclusives are currently coming out for the PS3 is because everyone else is in development. Microsoft had their really big year in 2007, and Nintendo in 2008. Right now, they need a bit of downtime to develop new games, while Sony launches their titles right now. Give the competition time; Nintendo is prepping great exclusive titles right now, I near-guarentee it.

In my opinion they could almost scratch all of the new exclusives coming up just so that I could get a glimpse of the new thatgamecompany game at E3.

thatgamecompany is the only game developer at the moment that gives me ay kind of hope for an intelectual progression in video games. Team Ico maybe too.

The obvious reason that most of these games are coming to PS3 is that they are internally developed, something that I love to support.

Apart from God of War 3 I am hard pressed to even think of a single game that the PS3 has that I give even the slightest shit about.

The funny thing is that I'm on the exact opposite end of this issue. I am looking forward to a few PS3 exclusives (GoW3, Kingdom Hearts 3, and maybe FFXIII), but I really can't see any Xbox exclusives that I'd want or need. Everything on the Xbox 360, I can play on my PC, and in DirectX 10 to boot! Now I'm not saying that the 360 is necessarily worse than the PS3 (Killzone 2 will never be as much fun as Gears of War 2 in my eyes), I'm just saying that I have no real reason to get one. People who rabidly bash the PS3 because it has few things to look forward to have to remember that there are others who could say the exact same thing back to them.

PS3's been having a rough ride so they need to announce their exclusives way early in order to generate hype. I expect Microsoft to announce several upcoming games this summer. If they fail to, then they could be in big trouble.

Well, we know they will "announce" Alan Wake. Of course, that is assuming it comes out this year. I agree with you harhol, unless MS announces some killer new IP they are pretty much toast for this year.

off topic, anyone know exactly what you do gameplay wise in Alan Wake yet?

What is so wrong with Uncharted? I get that some consider it mediocre, but why does everything have to be some pinnacle of gaming achievement? We can't just have a mediocre game that's...I don't know...fun?

Wow really, God Of War 3 is just the same as ninja gaiden all you do is go throughout the levels and SLASH, URGGGH MANLY, and Uncharted is completly overrated

In which case I think Gears of War is a more apt comparison to God of War...even the title's just about the same.

I'm not saying that Crysis and Diablo III are not good games, but does the pc really need another fps or another top down rpg.

Sony has been more aggressive about exclusives lately. I think that this generations console war is essentially over. I am not sure but I think that Wiis may outnumber Canadians now.

Dude Gears of War 2 was released in November of 2008, 6 months ago, same with Fable 2. Not really last year.
