because the worlds currently being run by backwards retards? most particularly in Australia, America, and England, and that the stupid things going in these countries will bring about a new age where China will become to dominant superpower?

but mostly it's just retards, and not people with mental sickness they can't help themselves no i'm talking about the mongs who also control the games industry (publishers like EA and Activision) and idiots who teach in school. Humanity hasn't lost my faith, i've lost faith in what makes up the population of humanity.

Edit: I know it's not only the games industry that has it's mong but since this is a site about games, then thats what the audience gets. Music Movies, books, trade and mostly every other industry also have their mongs that run them.
Always easy to pick an Australian out on the Escapist :p

I always have faith in humanity. Sure we fuck up every now and then but why must we think everything we do should be perfect. We're still a relatively young species who is just experiencing growing pains. We will make mistakes and we will learn from them.

How about this? Instead of bitching about humanity on an internet forum why don't you get off your arse and be the change you want to see in the world? /ghandiFTW
Hahaha that shit costs money. and thats the thing about bitching. It's normally never a problem until someone makes it a problem.

Faith? Never had any. I just enjoy the surprises.

Some people are good, some are bad, none are bad enough to justify moaning on a forum.

The fact that the actions of certain individuals or groups will cause people to lose fair in the entire human race is something that could cause me to lose faith in humanity.

To quote an old saying "the garden might smell of shit but the roses aint half beautiful"

Too many people on these forums focus in on the bad and then decry how crappy everything is in a vain attempt to appear wise and wordly, in truth they're just adolescents gripped by angst and will grow out of it in a few years, all that cynicism is bad for the soul.
"No," says the darkly brooding teen looking out from underneath a fring of black hair that covers his eyes, "it is my soul that is bad for the world!" And then proceeds to almost cut himslef, then toss aside the scissors and mutter, "it's not even worth it."
Heh, heh... You made fun of whiny teenagers. I like you.

I'm not "losing faith in humanity". I despise that phrase. I get that you made this thread for the sake of sarcasm, but I still feel the need to make my feelings towards all the misanthropic pricks known. This isn't directed at you, but at them (and you know who you are).

If you have no faith in humanity, you are welcome to end yourself so that you don't have to be a part of it anymore.

Shut up about how much you hate people, and how they're all stupid and evil. Human beings aren't inherently good or bad. We've all got good and evil qualities, and it is up to the individual to decide which qualities will be prevalent in his or her own life.

So, if you hate humanity, I advise that you grow the hell up.

P.S. Sorry about how angry that post was, but the "people suck" mindset just really annoys me, due in no small part to the fact that I used to dabble in it in high school.

I lost my faith in humanity because kids at school were mean to me and called me names. It has absolutely nothing to do with the thousands of years of genocide, slavery, war, oppression, indoctrination, avarice, exploitation, famine, injustice, discrimination, bigotry, hypocracy, religious fundamentalism, cruelty, ignorance and callousness that humanity has demonstrated and we let continue to this day.
LOL.

No, really. I never say "lol" because I don't actually laugh out loud. But I did at that. So... kudos.

I'm not.

Let's face it, if you own chickens then the morning gathering of eggs isn't judged "Good or bad", you just take the good eggs and throw out the rotten ones. It's kind of a bad analogy, but my point still stands, take people as they come is what I'm saying.

I haven't personally lost faith in humanity, mostly because I can see the good in some people and the people that I can't see any good in are few and far between. I also haven't met any of these colossal morons that you people keep babbling on about so maybe I just need to meet these people in order to lose faith in humanity.

To be honest, I'm not losing my faith in humanity, I've never had any to begin with. And I'll tell you, it's liberating(and I'm not kidding here).
Humanity in general always has been, and always will be idiotic, but if one actually sees through all of it, it is possible for that person to just decide to not be a part of it. And that's extremely liberating.
Of course observing humans and their stupidity might get depressing and morbid at times(which is when I normally start making posts that complain about the general lack of brains or atleast the ability to use 'em among humans), but most of the time it's just amusing.

1 - The fact that people like music that I don't like.
2 - The fact that people like ANYTHING that I don't like.
3 - Political correctness. It is the most evil thing since Darth Sidious and the Red Skull produced offspring that was raised by hitler. It is a disease eating away out our world. It should be punishable by death via sandpaper to the groin as it's basically worse than rape.
4 - My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic

Those seem to be the more common replies. I seriously don't understand this anti-political correctness thing. Seriously.

As for me, I actually barely understand what the phrase means. Humanity is too big for me to wrap my head around, the word is just thrown around too much these days. All I know about, all I can relatively speak about, are the people who are important to me, and I have faith in them, whatever that means.

What does 'faith in humanity' even mean anymore? Is it the concept of people not entirely sucking? Is it general trustworthiness? Competence? Intelligence?

Surely humanity is a broad enough spectrum of people that ANY definition we put behind this term is rendered inaccurate.

I suspect it's more likely just a common term used to describe someone's (read: YOU) disdain at the actions or beliefs of others when they're too lazy or stupid to rationalise and categorise their feelings toward the situation, preferring to simply paint it over with a nice umbrella concept that others can easily validate for them.

Fuck you.

Because having no faith in humanity is pretty much common place here, this thread will probably get at least 100 replies by people who think they have lost faith in humanity. Personally, I have not lost faith in humanity, I like to think that there is always good in the world and random twats don't keep me from having that opinion.
I like you, a good opening post. You and me should go around in our happiness van, offering friendship and tolerance to all.

I, do not think we should do that. People are a bit cautious with vans giving away "friendship" and "tolerance" nowadays, dont know why. I like you, have an internet hug.
