Yeah me too.BonsaiK said:Also, many gamers are nerds or ex-nerds who have endured years of being beaten up by muscle-headed sport-obsessed dimwits on the playground while growing up. Me included. Gaming is the leisure activity that you do to get away from all those sports people.
Do you honestly think this? Maybe back in the 90's, but now sports game are much more complicated, and hitting a button at the right time is a skill in all games, most games are about timing, so I don't know why its soo simple just because its in a sports game.Signa said:Sports games are usually overly simple too. Baseball games revolve around throwing the ball to the right base or just hitting the swing button at the right time. Football is just a tug of war game to get the ball to the end of the field, and basketball is just about finding the right time and place to push the throw button. All could pass as minigames if placed in another game.
Admittedly, I don't really like sports, but it's from a mixture of lack of talent and physical ability. If I had that, it wouldn't be so bad to play sports. There is a lot more fun in aiming your bat and glove to intercept a ball in Baseball and measuring the right amount of force to put on the ball when throwing in basketball than just pushing buttons on a controller.
The high speed crashes.AkJay said:My dad watches NASCAR, what's so fun about watching people drive 300MPH in a circle?!
OH hell yeah! The last sports game I played was Madden '06 on the N64. The only REAL fun I had was just goofing off when I was over-tired. Playing it seriously just didn't offer the same entertainment kick. Same went with Super Play Action Football on the SNES, which was the last sports game before that. Face it, sports game bore me to tears, and while my post may have been an oversimplification of my issues with it, my problems weren't overstated. I just find an infinitely more complex and challenging game in fighting for my life in Left 4 Dead, or hunting for every last secret in some sort of Mario adventure rip-off. I'd use a RPG as an example of something that entertains me more than a sports game, but most end up having some grinding at some point, so I can't really pass that off.steelguy17 said:Do you honestly think this?
