I sold my Wii after it collecting dust for 3 months after I bought my 360. The reason I sold it and the reason, I think, most people dislike it, is because it's very "kiddie". It just has a very cartoony/kiddie feel to it. It's also missing important features. No hard drive to store all the games you buy from the Wii store. No headset or chat capabilities making online play insanely annoying for team based games. HDTVs are dropping so rapidly in price everyone's got one and the Wii graphics, while good, are just nowhere near the other consoles. Devs have to deal with a whole new control scheme that they, from interviews I've read, find annoying.Sewblon said:third party developers continue to make mainstream games and Nintendo still makes the games that made people like them to begin with, So why do so many people hate the Wii, its current success and feel the need to invalidate its status as a gaming platform.
I do have to say, the Wii is great fun. It's fun for parties though, not really for 1 person. 4 people playing Tiger Woods, all swinging the Wiimotes around.... it was a great time. I don't hang out with 3 other people often though, schedules are too different. This is another reason I sold it.
I don't think people "hate" the Wii, I just think people get caught up in the whole console war thing. It's like Chevy vs. Ford, people get all worked up for no good reason and don't mean to take it as far as they usually do.
