Well, the image of vegetarians as evangelists - not the religion, but the idea of forcing your belief system constantly onto others.

However, I don't care. I will just refer to vegans/vegetarians as "hippie" now and then.

But that really shouldn't offend them.

My general belief is that Vegetarians are a bit silly. i don?t hate them, but i don?t understand them. i mean if you have a medical problem with meat than fine. But there a couple of things that i don?t get, about the arguments they make.

1. "All Natural". I don?t know about you but needing pills and injections, is NOT natural. Also Eating meat IS natural, If David Attenborough is to be believed ( And he is, because he is god) We evolved from tree climbing Monkeys, to upright Apes though the inclusion of meat into our diets. Further evidence is in the Gorilla. It is mostly a Vegetarian, and is the most mental "simple" of the apes.

2. "Animals have feeling too" or " I love Animals to much". I dont disagree there. I have wanted to be a Zoologist for most of my life. I love Animals. But i still eat them. You don?t berate your dog for eating meat, or your cat. if its ok for them, why can?t you? Also if we let Mr Cow live his natural life, he is still going to die, the only difference is that he will die of a horrible wasting disease and than have Flys turning him to slop, and laying there Maggots in his flesh, and he will be a disgusting rotten carcass. While if I have my way he will be cooked with care, Medium Rare, with Garlic sauce, to be immensely enjoyed by me. And I will Mentally thank him for providing me with a delicious meal, while fly's will just continue vomiting on him.

Sooo i really dont get vegetarians, but "hate" is only reserved for the assholes who interrupt by lovely meal, to try and say that the Flys and Maggots would treat him better.

I think it mainly stems from a lot of vegetarians being very loud about it and decrying others for eating meat. I myself have been called a "Murderer" for eating a ham sandwich. Now ignoring the obvious fact that I didn't kill the pig it was still very annoying to be refared to like that. On another note I actually find that most vegetarians these arn't even against eating meat but rather dislike the texture of meat and so don't eat it. Seriously out of the seven vegetarians I know five are so because they just don't like meat and one was one (She is now a meat-eater again) to see what it is like (odd I know).

I don't really care, they don't want to eat meat, nobody's forcing them. But I dislike those who criticise me for enjoying my bacon and say bad things about me. Those guys can go f*** themselves.

Vegetarians?

Why? Its just an eating choice and has absolutely no effect on anyone, yet at the very mention of vegetarianism, people freak out and call them retards and liars.

I myself was in an argument recently with some fucktard on the internet bashing me about my vegetarian life style on YouTube when I mentioned it on a PETA video. I hate PETA and my exact quote was that I don't support them in any way, but I'm still vegetarian, yet I still get assholes who just go on and on about how much they hate it.

So I ask you, Escapist. What are your feelings toward this subject?
What did he say to you? Cause he sounds like a complete butt-hole.
He is. It was a video on Youtube about PETA and how batshit crazy they are and I put;
Me: "I'm vegetarian and I think these people are fucking nuts!" Then this guy wrote;
Him: "Good for you, retard."
Me: I'm retarded because I eat healthy?
Him: No, because you think that people care about your opinion. No one cares about you veggie fucks and no one ever will.

I just ignored him after that. He posted like 4 comments on my profile about how much he hates me and all other vegetarians.

I don't hate vegetarians, I hate the people who think it makes them better than me just because they eliminate a food group, or the assholes who say everyone should be vegetarians. AH WAN MA BEEF!

Some people are thickheaded morons with no life, and they spend that shell of a life bashing people about dumb things
Just try to ignore him, but if that doesn't work, block him

Look, I don't hate vegetarianism. It's fine. But I've had multiple vegetarians ask me whether or not i was an "aware eater." wtf does that mean? I'm very aware of what I eat thank you very much. It's not like if I'm eating a sandwich I'll think it's spaghetti.

there is such a thing as recommending a diet based on nutrition rather then making someone else upset because they ate a cow. Guilt gets people no where.

What the hell is an "aware eater?" I've never heard someone say that.

Eat what you want. I will eat what I want. Don't fuss at me when I eat my cows, pigs, and chickens.
I am a girl who loves her meat.

Anyway... if you want to live your life as a vegetarian or a vegan, that is just fine with me. Live how you want to. Doesn't bother me. I won't ask you to eat meat if you don't try to stop me from eating meat.

People hate vegetarians because PETA's pure ridiculousness comes to mind. I don't care about your eating habits, but the moment you start to attack me about my eating habits, then I hate you. Once again, most people think of PETA when they hear vegetarian.

I'm not sure anyone hates vegetarians, as far as I've seen (except for the usual crazies), and it's actually the other way around. I've only seen vegetarians flaming non-vegetarians, and not vice-versa.

Imo, eat what you want. Whether it be vegetables, meat, humans(as long as you aren't the one killing them), or moon dust (that might get expensive though). I hate vegetarians (and/or vegans) when they start saying I am inhumane about eating meat, since eating living things is evil or some such nonsense. The funny thing is I never knew that those people photosynthesize or at soil since plants are (were) living. However, the reason I gave isn't exclusively for vegetarians; it's just anyone that says my lifestyle choices are evil (mostly its what I eat or my religion).

I don't hate vegetarians. I hate vegetarians who go around preaching vegetarianism. I have made my choice, so leave me in peace as I leave you in peace.

So I ask you, Escapist. What are your feelings toward this subject?

EDIT: Okay, I've noticed a few people asking why I'm a vegetarian whether it be medical or that I just don't want to eat animals. The real reason is because I hate the taste of meat. I don't care if you eat meat. I even had a few of my friends try to piss me off by eating an all meat lunch around me, but I just laughed. I don't like the taste of meat and I've found it to be quite healthy although, I'm not a health nut who takes suppliments and protein shakes all day. No offense to anyone that does.
probably because vegetarians and vegans, and peta, are well known for being irritating. most see their lifestyle as the only way, despite the fact that nature in real life is savage and creatures kill each other for reasons far less noble than for food. I understand that you are not one of these people. ((funny, I am one of those health nuts that takes supps and drinks protein. ;) )) But so many people have taken those tacks that it pisses a lot of people off just to hear people voice there vegetarian opinions. it is reactionary, but it is the result of people making the link between eating beef and slaughtering kittens for fun. PETA tends to make meat eaters look like monsters despite the fact that it occurs in nature all the time.

PS an "aware eater" is PETA propaganda for someone who weeps over how terribly their food has been abused. I wonder if vegetables scream when they are cut from thir stalks?

I don't hate vegetarians. I just hate people. Mainly because people tend to make it a point to mention that they are a vegetarian when you order the twelve ounce steak and fries and that vegetarianism is more humane. Or that the PS3 is the more sensible purchase seeing as it comes with a Blu-ray player. You know who I'm talking about.

I don't HATE vegetarians/Vegans/PETA any more than I hate religious jerk-offs that try to jam their morality and way of life down my throat. Or anyone else with some half-wit political agenda. Allow my to brutalize a quote from Voltaire -

"I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll tolerate it so long as you don't start FORCING them upon me."
