Because we are a country made up of people from other countries, so by hating us, you are also hating every other country you don't like.

Kind of like how the British of old were hated. They were the biggest around. And the big ones tend to be big pricks.

Because you claim to be the leaders of the free world whilst being one of the most censored, bigoted, right wing societies in the western world. Even the state you guys hold up as the most liberal recently kicked up a massive fuss about gay marriage and, as a nation, you had specifically racist laws until 40 years ago. Land of the free my white, British ass.
Mainly it's the superiority you guys take from these perceived virtues is what annoys me.
On the whole, though, I don't hate America. A lot of my favourite things are from there, like REM and The Usual suspects. Its just an unusually noisy, self righteous asshole minority (which all countries have) that ruins the image of the nation.

We are seen as the fat-cats of the world, we pollute, we spend money we don't have and yet we never stop. There are many reasons to hate us I guess.

Because of two reasons, as I see it. Our government gets itself involved in world affairs that simply don't concern us. This generally kicks up a lot of dust and makes us look bad... because in that regard, we ARE. I don't like this about us. We go around the world like we're a third grader in the first grade sandbox. "Do it this way, it's MY world." That's a legitimate reason not to like us.
