Why do you rage quit?

I only rage quit in a single player game. Specifically if a boss has been hammering me for an hour and I haven't made the tiniest dent in his armour or found a good tactic. But that sort of quitting is just to give me breather before I actually start cussing out the boss and actually getting angry. The funny thing is I'll usually kill him within five minutes the next time I fight him.

Otherwise in multiplayer if I leave it is because I seriously need to leave or just felt like playing a different game. Otherwise I enjoy trying to Rambo my way through impossible odds.

I actually don't rage quit often, I usually boredom quit but back on topic. The last time I rage quit over a game was some Final Fantasy game, I think it was 8. I got really angry because the entire bloody first level was a combat tutorial that even after the 10 years we've had this game, I still can't understand.

I only quit games when I know there is no chance of me winning, and it would be best to just let the other person save some of their time and just give them the win.

Generally when im 1:5 KD and having one of those games where you can't seem to do anything right, or when my team can't seem to control the map/shoot stuff down.

One thing before I say anything, I think I may be watching too much Zero Punctuation that now everything I read is in Yahtzee's voice.

Anyway, I rarely rage quit. If there is someone that is obviously cheating that it's as if they have a big sign floating above them that says, "HEY LOOK AT ME IM CHEATING!!!1!!11" I get everyone on my team to kill that person if possible. But if it isn't possible I rage quit.

I also once had a rage moment in BC2 when one time I was the recon. Throught the game I was sniping and spotting enemies from across the entire map and getting tons of marksman points to the point I've leveled recon up twice. All of a sudden, my internet gives out and I'm 5 seconds away from throwing my PS3 out the window, and then going outside and taking a 9 iron to it. Luckily my friend rang the doorbell a second before a did it.

Only when playing MW2 or when people are remorselessly using painfully cheap weapons (which usually happens in MW2 anyway).

When everybody jacks all the planes in BF1942 and then immediately flies them into the water.

I rage quit if I feel that the story is not going anywhere and/or if the controls are really bad. I don't rage quit often, even though i'm known as the "angry one" to some people. (I like to think that I am just highly cynical though), I just don't see the point of raging at a game, its often not worth it.

Modern Warfare 2 is the single most rage-inducing game I've played recently, there's just so much crap goes on there.

Aside from that, its campers and people who spam the mic to call everyone "DUMBASS FAGGOTS" that make me ragequit...
I just mute everyone with the mic symbol next to their name. I realize this might make me unable to hear one piece of important info, but it will save me from hearing the million dumbass remarks that have nothing at all to do with the game.

On Topic, I usually dont ragequit, i finish the match out and if im still ticked, i quit.
I hate it when people ragequit, whether or not they are on my team or the opposing team (although I laugh if im the one that caused it.)

I usually rage quit on FIFA's 'online Be A Pro Mode'. Hardly anyone works as a team and no-one seems to know how to defend, or pass, or shoot. In fact, hardly anyone seems to have any basic understanding of how the game of football is meant to be played.

I very rarely ragequit. Hell, I generally get kicked out of L4D games for being fucking diplomatic, which shows the state of the internet these days.

But I digress. Yes, I rarely ever ragequit. Generally it only happens when my teammates are just plain no fun the play with (not necessarily because they're bad/too good at the game, but because they're just dicks or something), or if I've not had a cigarette for a while. Ragequitting, or just plain quitting early is certainly one of the gaming cardinal sins, IMO. People just seem to be hung up on winning and quit whenever there's the slightest dint in that prospect, but hey, games are still fun even when you're losing, and I'm quite happy to congratulate the opposing team on a job well done.

There are a lot of things that annoy me on various games, and when they start to outbalance the fun things, I leave. Games are for entertainment, and there is simply no point in still being there if you're no longer having fun.

That said, if I'm ever in a position where I can't ragequit (e.g. comp matches in TF2) I can get very annoying for my teammates I think, because I either moan about doing badly or just keep switching classes (I'm a Scout so it's not quite as bad as if I was another class) which kinda messes with the teamwork. I know I do these things and I try to stop, but it just happens before I can stop myself. :(
