because it's popular? thats the simple answer and probably the reason why some hate it, but it has alot of idiots on it, but hey welcome to the world! it's a fun game, some people enjoy other things more but that doesn't make this game terrible. The game has some flaws but it makes it part of the fun! people with duel shotguns over powering you? find a way to beat there arse back. it's fun :)

You answered your own question there, and in making this thread, you yourself have revealed your hatred for the game... Ironic, I guess.

I do not hate it because for me, it is not the maps or perks that render you capable but the knowledge of the maps. PC gamers got screwed and noobs got forced into submission. IW buttfucked us and made us like it.

For people who do not understand why dedicated servers are a big deal, these guys explain the issue far better then I ever could:

Ironically, Infinity Ward once understood what made their PC versions so great as shown by this video:

unbalanced gameplay
unrealistic depiction of weapons
annoying player base (in my experience)
not about skill but reaction time

For me, something about the online just died after a while. I could stay with it for a few weeks, but every time I go back it just feels more and more bland. So much so, that no new map pack is going to change it.

I found the single player disappointing when compared to CoD4, and I got bored of the multiplayer when I hit level 21.

Then I went back to playing Halo 3, and replaying assorted RPGS.

I don't think it seems that way. I haven't heard of anyone who doesn't like Modern Warfare 2.

The only thing I hate about it is akimbo 1887s. Every game has its flaws, you just have to find the one whose particular flaws annoy you the least. For those bitching about the nuke, if you smoke 25 people in a row without dying, you deserve something. I miss the pack of dogs, though, because some people are genuinely anguished over shooting virtual dogs. Many of these same people want to shoot kids in Fallout. It would be great if there was a hidden 50 killstreak that unleashed a pack of raptors.

It's cool to hate it, along with Halo, Gears of War, religion and JRPG's. If you want to be loved even more then say you love TF2, Half Life and Portal.

While I am half joking it does seem that the above seems scarily accurate for a rather large amount of people on this site.
Absolute crap!
MW2 is reaching burnout phase, and if like most players I guess hearing 8 year old kids talking like "insert rapper here" then the online does get old very quickly.

Gaming is personal opinion, I don't HATE games, personally Halo was over rated for me, I never got into it, and frankly couldn't be arsed playing it beyond a couple of levels.
GoW the same, adequately executed shooters, but I just failed to buy the hype.

I know for a fact I am in the minority with my less than orgasmic opinion of GoW and Halo 1,2,3 well that is of course unless I talk to a PS3 fanboy who usually shares my opinion despite never actually having played the games.

Religion, well not agreeing / hating is basically just common sense in a world where faith seems non existent.

JRPGs well, thats just cultural for most of us. Lets be honest, the genre has not exactly produced outstanding games of late has it?
I used to be a fan of the genre, but after finally realising that the Devs are just shipping any old shite these days, having being stung too many times with piss poor recycled storylines, shoddy gameplay and nonsensical game progression, well lets just say my opinion has changed drastically, as I suspect has the opinion of many people.

As my motto says "DICE did it first and it will always be better unless its by Crytek"

Translation "Battlefield is the best mp experience and Crysis is about equal but with sp"
