Nothing but a miserable pile of lies, apparently... Have at you!

No only said, if there is someething regarding anime that should make you feel uncomfortable it should be otaku.TiefBlau said:Because liking anime instantly makes you an otaku.
Also, comic book guy, so your argument is fucked anyways. Next.
I guess that the people who play videogames and the people who watch anime just tend to overlap a lot. Especially the ``hardcore´´ gamer.Da Orky Man said:First, before I have anyone trolling this post about how I "Just don't get anime", you can see by my avatar that I'm guilty as well. Code Geass ftw!
Anyway, about 80% of the avatar's I see are anime characters. Any idea why?
The stupidity of this definition can only be matched by the stupidity of the word "otaku" itself.Westerschwelle said:No only said, if there is someething regarding anime that should make you feel uncomfortable it should be otaku.
A) I know who Aya Hirano is.Westerschwelle said:Also I don't know what you mean with "comic book guy" but if you mean what I think you mean then let me tell you that Hirano Aya is a anime seiyuu.
Funny, I am young (15) and liberal, but I "don't get" anime either.TheDarkEricDraven said:Anime is popular in young, libiral communities.
This is exactly what I was going to post.Simiathan said:The Escapist is full of nerds.
Nerds like anime.
Duh.
Sorry, but where did you get any of that? Didn't you even read the OP? (S)he clearly stated that they liked anime too... Nowhere were any of your accusations confirmed. What made you think the OP didn't like anime and was negative to those who did? In fact, you are the most belligerent person here, from what I can tell.Geno DCLXVI said:-snip-
I didn't define anything...TiefBlau said:The stupidity of this definition can only be matched by the stupidity of the word "otaku" itself.
So you just mean white guys in general wich makes you essentially a racist.TiefBlau said:A: "I don't know why, but the nighttime always makes me scared."
B: "Yeah, well I've had some pretty bad days before. Those are worse than night time."
A: "I was talking about days in general. As in, nights, regardless of quality, are pretty scary to me."
B: "Well, if you're afraid of it, it must be bad. I'm therefore gonna keep talking about bad days and equate them to your irrational fear in defense of night time."
I was going to accompany this with a helpful infographic, but then I realized I couldn't be arsed. You're on your own from here.

GOD I totally agree with both of you!Lagao said:Because there is nothing better to do in life then watch the same plot/story retold in many different forms of anime which try to call themselves "Original" but instead can be reverted to really early forms of anime all in which, suck. And when Anime actually develops a good ending, they have to ruin it by extending it even more.
TL;DR
All anime are the same.
They all suck.
You just lied. I'm a nerd and I hate animeSimiathan said:The Escapist is full of nerds.

Give 'Rebuild of Evangelion' a shot; much better animation, a higher budget, a significant distillation of plot and a lot less metaphysical weirdness. Far easier to enjoy.Alucard 11189 said:A friend of mine likes it because it is more "intellectual" than western cartoons (her words not mine) as myself and a group of friends settled down to watch Spongebob squarepants, Ren and Stimpy and Lucy the daughter of the devil. One person said to her "What so intellectual about a house that moves?" (I think she had been watching Howl's magc castle before we walked in). I also like anime, not to the extent that some people do, but I do have soft spots for certain anime, for example, I like watching FLCL and Death note. I know they could be considered "mainstream" but I just don't have the energy or the will to try and sort out what the hell was going on with the ending to Neon genesis evangelion and things like that as, in my experience, some anime's can be damned near incomprehensible towards the end. When I am sitting down to watch cartoons, I am not looking to search the depths of my soul all the time, most of the time when I am sitting down to watch cartoons I want some brainless fun for half an hour.
