Why is Male gayness "worse" than Female Gayness

I think it's (broadly speaking) because lesbianism isn't associated with sodomy (or, to put it less judgementally, anal sex). I think if you took the 'ass' part out of the equation, society would be more generally accepting of it.

Obviously, any pair with the appropriate, ah, equipment can engage in anal sex, but I think it kind of dominates people's impression of male homosexuality, and anal sex is kind of a polarizing issue for most people anyway.

Additionally, guys like the 'girl on girl' idea more than girls like the 'guy on guy' one (again, generalization). This means that lesbianism has two camps that are in favour of it right from the get go =).

I know the obvious answer people come up with will be that it doesn't scare men as much as male homosexuality (and lots of media is exclusively aimed at men), but I can't think of very many examples of lesbian characters either. You're far more likely to find a gay male in a mainstream movie, TV show or video game than a lesbian.

Why? I have absolutely no idea. Even the "men are perverted" argument doesn't fit with this, when you think about it.

I'm guessing it's the way society views men and women differently. Even today, women are still often put below men, so a man having sex with another man, especially on bottom, is seen as lowering that man a great deal. Men are supposed to be powerful and dominate, not taking it from behind. Women having sex is seen as quaint. People tell themselves lesbians aren't really gay, just experimenting. Or that they had a bad experience with a man, and just need to meet the right guy.

Of course, I'm not anywhere near an expert on the subject, and I could easily be wrong. It's just an idea.

I've known people their entire lives, who have spoken the same as any other guy, but as soon as they come out of the closet will suddenly develop a slight lisp, speak in higher pitches, change the way they stand etc...basically, live up to the traditional media stereotype of gay men (eg. Acting like a stereotypical gay man makes it easier for other potential partners to know they're gay. It's either that or wearing a shirt that says "I like the cock" all the time.

Gay men are a trope. You're much more likely to see a gay man that has no other character attributes than you are to find a lesbian woman with no other character attributes. In those cases they aren't so much "gay characters" as they are "poorly written plot devices".

i think there are still a lot men out there who think it's every lesbians dying wish to make out with another woman in front of them.
plus some straight man feel attacked in their sexuality by men who love other men(remember the guy who didn't like being hit on by males in DA2). Right, but you shouldn't forget that women are also most often equally perverted, females just hide it better I suppose, but still ain't innocent. Or, there's the old standard of acting like yourself, getting to know someone, and finding out if they're interested in you...that's the way sexual relations work for heterosexual people, right?
As I've just retrofitted to my original statement, my issue is exactly as you've said...they're "acting like a gay man", rather than being a real person.

Except most guys are straight, so you you'd face 90% base failure rate on that alone. By acting gay, and only going for guys who do so as well, you keep yourself from wasting time chatting up guys to find out they're straight or, worse yet, homophobic.
