Halo games have deserved 10/10 scores because of the Multiplayer. Only the first game would deserve a 10/10 for its Campaign alone.
No game is perfect. 10/10 does not mean that a game is without faults. Indeed, Edge magazine once provided a key:
10 = Revolutionary.
So, the question shouldn't be "How can Halo be Perfect if it has The Library in it?", but "Is Halo really Combat Evolved?", I would say yes.
It's combat is superior to every FPS that has come after it, unfortunately including its sub-standard sequels which are wholly redeemed by their innovation and polish in the realm of vehicular Multiplayer. However, these games are only as good as the teams that play them and if you have experienced only tea-bagging, squealing, North American kids who use team-chat for singing rather than strategy, then I can't convince you of its untapped potential.
