Why won't Sonic die?

Sonic already died once. But he has been cursed with immortality through undeath by the criminal fantards and the moneymilker virus.

I also went through the official website to see the contents of this game. I CRIED MY EYES OUT IN SORROW!

An educated guess, in this case, is not inappropriate. It is generally agreed that Sonic games have been on a downhill slope for sometime now, with the biggest grievance being that they threw out way too many speed segments for combat ones. The fact Sonic appears with a sword in the games cover art(indicating at least a small focus on melee combat), tells me I won't like the game at all.
That being said, I also think just as many people want another good sonic game to come out. We've all got our hopes up in the past though, to have them violently put out of their misery, so most Sonic fans take a cautious pessimism towards the Sonic franchise. And its all his fault.

Yeah, good point. Honestly, Mario is gonna hit the death bed next game, MGS is doomed and Halo can't continue any storylines. Y'know what they say, good things must come too an end.

Ohh for fucks sake, Sonic was good WHEN IT WAS 2D, the 3D realm fucked him all up. Can't the developers get that people don't give a shit about 3D or graphics when it comes to Sonic? Sonic was the first video game I played back on the Mega Drive and since then he's been like a security blanket. But it's like someone's come in after a drunken night out and decided to pee all over it. And then vomited.

Sonic was the first game I ever played, and I enjoyed it so much I got a Mega Drive. The rest is history, as they say...
The newer games have been worryingly off-key, so much so that I'm beginning to lose faith. I don't like to judge a book by its cover, but with what came before it - 'werehog' indeed... *shudders* - it's hard to keep an open mind.

Why do Sonic Team feel a need to mess with what used to be a winning formula? If something's not broke, don't fix it...

Ahh Sonic. People refuse to let him just pass gracefully into oblivion because his original titles were so popular and held up the Sega consoles for quite some time (I remember when the fanboys used to rage over Mario and Sonic rather than ps3 or 360... I must be getting a lot older than I realise...)

It is a pity, because much like anything which is kept painfully going well beyond when it should have been put out to pasture (the Simpsons springs to mind here, as does Married with Children, Lost, Prison Break etc) it becomes stupid because they'll try anything to keep the series alive and it becomes embarrasing for them because they refuse to accept the inevitable, that Sonic's time has passed, and now he must gracefully leave the scene before this charade continues any longer.

Everyone is saying that the latest sonic games are complete shit, and why? because they have made bad choices.
Right Sonic adventure 1 and 2 Were good, Bad camera angles but great games.
Sonic and the werehog - Now this is where it pisses me off, Not the game, The people who bash the game on an CHOICE, YES PEOPLE IT WAS A BAD CHOICE but it was a good game, It still gave me entertainment and they even made the werehog levels playable. Just because you didn't like the werehog idea doesn't make the game shit.
Now this idea? Well not that keen on the idea but the game is most likely okay and playable.
Everyone stop bitching and complaining about sonic going 3D and they should make 2D games 3D and keep the story the same, Right I would like one game like that, But that would be a remake and all remakes are shit, Sonic is evolving in a way, And in all honesty why don't you try making a good different story where a blue hedgehog who run's at super speed has to save the world.
People Sonic won't die because it's not his time yet, 2D sonic is dead and hopefully so are his fucking remakes, Sure they were great games Back then, But now they wouldn't fit in.
I just say let them have the ideas and make them, because I would rather have this than the same game over and over again.

I'm probably going to be the only one to say this, but I enjoyed the Sonic Unleashed Demo and do plan on buying the game once I have the money.

And I have to say I am looking forward to this game as well. Not as much as I was for Unleashed but still I am looking forward to it a bit.

Obviously not or else this horse would have been beaten to death years ago. That?s why I recommend the silver bullets and then desecrating the body and burying it on sacred ground. It's the only way to be sure it won't come back.

Or rather, I though Secret Rings was a great game, and this is supposed to be very similar.
