Alas, i used to love sonic games. On my faithful megadrive i would spend hours playing through my sonic collection.
Though i did turn my nose up at 'Sonic 3D' as the action seemed slow and broken and the controls were too chunky.
Now i am saddened to know he is become this...
I may not have played this next installment but we all know how its going to go down. I'm surprised sonic team haven't listen to some of these rants had all across the internet and learned that sonic and gimmicks is like apple pie and manure.

i like the old sonic games but now with all the "upgrades" they are trying to do(like sonic with a sword) its just not the same ole game anymore. Its not going to fail(cause of course there are people out there that will buy it) but i just say sonic needs to die.

You have got to be kidding me?
They're running out of ideas over there......
Sonic has a sword!?!? This game is going to be terrible.

And Sonic won't die because all of the little kids love Sonic, no matter what the game holds(I should know, I babysit them, the little kids get every Sonic game that comes out). So as long as there are little kids to buy Sonic games....there will be Sonic games.

This seems like a very bad idea to me, but then I haven't played sonic since the genesis titles.

There was an early isometric-view Sonic 3D game which was unrefined but not without promise, I wonder how things might have gone if they'd kept that look.

Also considering they're now they're now taking blatant liberties with Sonic's image, they might update him just a little, he's supposed to be a hedgehog, they could render a few individual spines, even if they did insist on keeping him blue.

I was fine with the first game...then came the second, I started to laugh nervously...then another, I inched my way closer to the door...now this...they wrecked something that was good and now people hate sonic (wait no hate is a strong word)...people dislike sonic with a strong passion. Obviously the game makers or marketers or whoever doesn't know when to cal it quits...

People still make Sonic games because people still BUY Sonic games. I saw some little kids at the store talking about how much they wanted Sonic Unleashed. When you're young, you don't care about the reviews or scores or how fun the game actually is, you just see a picture of Sonic and freak out and that's all you want.

Sonic won't die for the same reason we don't make alternative fuel. Why would the oil companies want to switch over to an alternative fuel if they're still making money off of gas? As long as people will buy it, nothing's going to change.

Personally, I don't want Sonic to die. I just want someone to make a smart game. I understand speed platforming is hard to do in 3D, but I think Sega can come up with something.

What the hell is wrong with Sega? They were beating a dead horse before, but now there isn't even a dead horse to beat, just a puddle of dried blood and hair.

Thats what I think all of us really want, I mean despite the genre, if a good game can be made of it, its always a bonus. Its just that Sonic Team aren't exactly renowned for making, how I say, 'good games', lately anyway. Don't get me wrong, the generation of old was a golden age for Sonic, but, ehh...

If I ever get a chance to work on a game with zombies, there will be undead bearing striking resemblance to Sonic and most of the Nintendo franchise characters. The Nintendo characters will be competent and tough foes that don't really change how they fight over time, and Sonic-zombie will just be twitching on the floor in random places in the game environments, not moving forward and pretty sad and pathetic (but also a little funny) to watch.

I'm probably going to be the only one to say this, but I enjoyed the Sonic Unleashed Demo and do plan on buying the game once I have the money.

And I have to say I am looking forward to this game as well. Not as much as I was for Unleashed but still I am looking forward to it a bit.
Finally, someone who actually likes the game, and doesn't hate it because of a werehog.
Well, The game is good you should buy it, it gave me hours of playing time ;D
come on!!! it got F grades.... even if anti sonic people hate it reviewers must be honest
The reason why it got F grades is because of the Werehog, I agree the werehog was a bad IDEA, But they made the gameplay playable.

Because of fan-boys who fool themselves into thinking that new sonic games that come out will be good, My room-mate is obsessed with sonic games and he probly has all of em. He argues that people hate them just because they dont know how to play them.......
I personally don't care for sonic at all, all he is was something that Sega made to combat Mario(and ironically got bought out by nintendo) and also had some good games before they tried to stuff him into a 3-d world with gimmics and the intent to make sonic not run just hand the game to a good developer

Exactly, even though many people will say they hate Sonic, they don't mean that, they mean, I hate Sonic games in 3-D, 2-D for the win!

Also, that was really funny, haha......but seriously, make that game!

Let's face, I don't think sonic team even cares if their game is good or not. They just rush one out of production, to appease those stupid hipper active 8 year old's and make a quick buck off their all but dead franchise.
