Going by that logic, you would side with a white person over an African American or Hispanic because of statistics, too?
Depends on the crime. For example, last I checked, white Americans are more likely to commit rape than African Americans.
I'm talking about a white man robbing an african american man or hispanic man

WOAH. Male circumcision in a hospital =/= women having their genitals mutilated in a hut.
Last I checked, synagogues/mosques are no hospitals. And even if they were, baby boys have no choice in the matter so their rights are being assaulted in the same way that those of the circumsiced girls.

Besides, men get circumsiced in huts too in Africa or some parts of the Middle-East.

This double standard about circumsicion is WRONG.

(Double standards are wrong, period).

So, two people see a drunk man attacking a woman, and go to help? They did the right thing based on what they saw.

Isn't this just how our western culture works?
As in women automatically get the benefit of the doubt since we place a higher moral standing on women compared to men since for some reason we are taught in our culture from a young that we are not equal rather then that everyone's just a human being.
So, what would you do if you saw a man attacking a woman? Or let's say you see a man attacking another man. Would you consider stopping the act?

I hope the guy take them both to court and get a HUGH payout stupity should be punished.
Based on what?
Sure, he might have had a reason to pursue the woman and engage her in a 'physical struggle', but the point stands that what those two people did was restrain someone who was fighting with someone else.

Also Boudica is the worst type of sexist. The kind that hides behind the issues of other women to try and make her own sexism seem rational.

"Woman in (insert thirdworld shithole) have it bad! Men there have it slightly less bad! Men are violent, terrible people!"

And vegan. If she lives in California she's officially a stereotype.

God. Stop defending these two who intervened. They made a mistake, not the guy who got mugged. You're almost taking the side of the robber. Besides, this is the most possible way it happened. No matter how sexist it sounds, it is WAY more possible that they assumed he was attacking her because... he was a man. And according to movies, news, et cetera, men assault women, not the other way around. I know it sounds stupid and discriminating, but a lot of men, hell, even a lot of women think that possibility of a woman mugging a man equals zero.

The victim reported that he was attacked by an unknown female as he was walking down the street, then robbed of about $400 in cash and a gold chain valued at about $500, according to Hellwig.

The victim said he tried to prevent his assailant from leaving the area, engaging her in a physical struggle, when the passing motorists apparently intervened, restraining him but not assaulting him, Hellwig said.
Attacking isn't exactly the right word. We weren't there so we can hardly have an accurate image of the event but the article doesn't exactly make it sound like he was the aggressor. Even if the situation was as you described I'm inclined to believe that there was still some amount of gender stereotyping going on.

But, given that you're quite clearly sexist, I'm going to leave this argument here because there'll be no winning.

Do you have any idea what they do to women? They hack off the clitoris--akin to taking a knife to the tip of a penis--so they feel no pleasure in sex for the rest of their life, sew their vagina shut, to be cut open once they are sold to a man, and slice off her labia.

Do not even try to compare male circumcision to what they do to women. Ever.
I wasn't aware of the details. My fault.

I still sustain every kind of circumcision is wrong (except in extreme cases where it's necessary due to medical reasons and with consent of the circumcised). But now I agree with you that female circumcision is much worse (It's actually closer to complete genital mutilation).

You still haven't answered my question about if the robbery was White on African American or Hispanic (same gender) instead of Woman on Man...

Is it ok to be racist then because of the statistics?

Out of curiosity, have you ever had penetrative intercourse? Because cutting off the clitoris doesn't suddenly make the rest of your genitals numb.In fact, I'm fairly certain that the penis has no contact with the clitoris during the actual act of sex, unless I've been really doing something wrong. I'm not saying that female circumcision is right or ok, god knows it's not, but the claim of "Feel no pleasure in sex" is pretty much a blatant lie. And you shouldn't lie or exaggerate things in situations like this because it undermines your whole stance which in turn undermines serious human rights issues.

Oh, so that's why you're butthurt over everything. Sorry, it's just that whenever I see a post attached to your nickname, it's about how every possible thing is sexist towards women and how they are the most miserable beings on the face of Earth (and that's just a little bit of exaggeration). Now I finally know the cause :p No, I don't want to start anything, just thought I'll let you know how you look from certain perspective.

Sub-Saharan Africa or other countries don't come into this. Their situation and their conditions can only be understood by those people and you can relate only to people in your culture.
In this condition maybe those people could be excused because they didn't see how it started but it is too common and ignored.

No one is denying that women have it bad but we do talk about the problems they face. It isn't perfect but we talk if nothing else. For men, we don't talk, we don't speak up and if we do militant feminists hijack the discussion if it is anywhere other than the internet. No high level psychologists discuss them, no politicians, no courts, we have no medium other than the internet to discuss our problems.

It would be dangerous, foolish, and illegal to physically prevent the woman from escaping the scene. It also wouldn't occur to anyone to restrain the person who is fleeing a physical altercation before they can attempt to flee the scene. No one would do that in a similar situation to what those men discovered. It's tempting to say we would have done that or should have because, with hindsight, we know that may have brought a better resolution. But despite this unfortunate case, that is not what Samaritans should do.

Also, there is nothing "sexist" about it. That's silly. The Good Samaritans did what anyone would do no matter what gender anybody was.

Finally, just because one instance became complicated doesn't mean you or I shouldn't do the right thing. I don't really believe so many are as cowardly as they are pretending to be. I wish those Good Samaritans had been there for me when I needed them.

I always told people white knights are dangerous, this article only verifies it even more. Getting robbed by a woman? White Knights jump in as accomplices to robbery.
No, a White Knight is some guy being nice to get into a womans pants. This is just someone driving down the side of the road and seeing a physical altercation.

Control yourself and your ridiculous internetisms.

My first thought would be to separate them, not dogpile the guy. They had two people, one for each person to keep them off each other, but that's not what happened.
Do you stand at road side and assess a situation like Sherlock Holmes for every physical interaction you see?
I'm going to predict you haven't been in many fights with an attitude like that - none that haven't been off a playground anyway.

They restrained the guy because he is most likely to be the one committing the crime - inb4 ERMGAWD SEXISTZ.
As a certified 100% penis carrying guy I will confirm this, you grab the dude because he's the one who is likely to be kicking off.
He is also the one to me most likely to need the most restraint, now don't get me wrong ladies can be crazy kitties when shit goes south but they did what would be perceived to be the right thing.

Hop off your little internet hindsight pedestal where it's all to easy to tell them how wrong they are.

@Boudica

So, you are not racist but you're sexist against men because of "statistics". Interesting..

Ok, I think the lesson here is: Guys, if a woman tries to steal from you, let her, don't try to stop the robbery, don't try to defend yourselves, it might look like you're assaulting her.

Yup, there's nothing wrong with our culture...

That video is incredibly depressing, and goes to show that the bias against men has nothing to do with social, economic or political systems it is just inherent. We are valued less, not because of what we do but simply because of what we are.

In the incident the op mentioned, I would have attempted to restrain both individuals as they were both engaged in the fight. And white knights being white knights simply for the sake of it are infuriating. We live in an age of sexual equality, it is time we all started acting like it.

Alright what would I do... well first I would stumble upon the scene and see this.
What do I see?

-Well I see a man attempting to restrain a woman, (I highly doubt he was physically assaulting her in the means of punching, slapping, etc*)
-I see a briefcase (most likly being tugged at by both at some point indicating it's of importance to both.)

You know what I would do? I would simply walk up, likely to go unnoticed since they are tunnel visioning their attacker, and go for one of two things.

See if there is opportunity to snatch briefcase myself and make it apparent I am staying right where I am.
Variable Results of action:
-They both pause struggle to understand new situation.
-They both pounce to attack me (unlikely)
-Wrong do'er attempts to flee scence
-I take control of situation and am able to have them pause long enough to give victum a moment to speak up

Option 2 I run up break them apart
Possible results
-Both turn to me and start to plee their stories (unlikely since I am no figure of authority)
-Victim would most likely stay to thank me for aid
-Wrong do'er would again most likely flee do to trying to avoid the police.
-(In this specific instance) Why is woman with briefcase fleeing the scene?

again why is a woman with a briefcase fleeing the scene? Even good-do'ers should find that there are 2 variable details there that are questionable. (I doubt she was wearing attire to indicate a business woman)

Hench forth any reasonable approaches I see have no excuse for what happened in this incident and there are various human as fault.

Can we stop turning sexism into a contest about who has it worst?

Because if you're only allowed to complain if there isn't some group who's got it worse then I've got news for you...

So please, stop this pissing contest of who's got the worst circumcision and reputation in society based on gender.

Either because you believe that it doesn't matter if someone else has it worse, problems are problems and they all deserve to be fixed.

Or because you realize that there's this group of child soldiers in Africa who are currently getting drugged up on some substance that will kill them by age 15 before being forced to chop off the heads of whomever they come across and then going to bed where they'll most likely be raped, repeatedly, and as such your petty complaints pale in comparison and by following your own philosophy of not whining if someone else is having it much worse you shut the hell up.

Thank you.
